Yeah, but that type of play didn’t win championships on his watch. I will say this is true, but ultimately because of the physicality, those guys just couldn’t put up the kind of volume that today’s players can. Like Curry will light you up for 40 today. Rex is going to give you an efficient 25 on the best day. You got hit on screens back then, you could hand check right into the point of a player shooting back then, no foul call, shots going to look crazy. That swing through rule, where somehow the breadbasket area is considered the offensive zone was non existent. You could press as close as you wanted, and make the offensive player play with his back to the basket. He had trouble with these guys, but these guys ultimately didn’t win chips back then. Bigs did, big physical guards did.
