How have the Pistons turned their season around?
The Houston Rockets beat the Memphis Grizzlies thanks to 42 points from Jalen Green. Dave DuFour and Es Baraheni discuss the Rockets big win and their place in the West, the Warriors abysmal lost to the tanking Raptors, and the Knicks side of their loss to Detroit. First? How early do you guys record this show? And why so early?
P.S I know it’s been said many times before but Es you do resemble Adin Ross 😳
Jalen Green has been going under the radar this season for some reason. He should be an all star but they will most likely give it to Senguin. Jalen is 100% a future allstar.
This Rockets team might be ahead of schedule.
Love the Rockets hype but Dave, "If Amen could only hit corner 3's". He's 11 for 34 — 32.3% this season. Btw.. he was 2 for 18 last yr
Deeeeeetroit 🏀!!!!!!!
"Pump and dump"? 🤔😶😂
Your guest was great, but I woulda loved to hear what JEIII woulda said about his old beat vs his new beat
I am Rooting For The Detroit Pistons & The Houston Rockets🚀 #Great #Content
Great show! I look forward to it each morning.
2 things: The 2024 Warriors are just the Wizards with a hot start. Role players become all stars against them
Scottie Barnes and Evan Mobly are better than Cade Cunningham
Jb coach of the year cade mip Beasley 6 man if the year pistons 5th seed second round
What nobody is noticing or acknowledging is that This Cade and Ivey experiment mirrors the Grant Hill and Allan Houston experiment from 30 years earlier. This time around, both players are better and have a higher ceiling. Cade Is just better than Grant, sorry Hill fans. His Jumper is better, he's a better ball handler, more of a leader (and dog). Grant may have been more explosive athletically but his game never evolved pass that.
Allan Houston's Jumper was pure, but if it wasn't falling, he was useless. He was slow, couldn't defend, and his ceiling was reached early. Ivey 's biggest set back was Monty Williams, and let's be honest , he should've never been coach last year. Ivey is just a better talent than Allan Houston. Way more athletic, way more defensive, and much more commited to improving his game. Ivey is more like the dawg who played with Houston in New York, Sprewell.
Monty's evaluation of talent resulted in Killian Hayes "Starting" over Ivey. The same Killian Hayes who couldn't make the the French National team. The same Killian Hayes who Troy Weaver took over Haliburton (Who although is Was an All Star Last year, has the ugliest jumper In the NBA) Grant and Houston never meshed because of ego's, coaching, and ultimately a disdain for playing in Detroit. Ivey and Cade "Want" to be part of Detroit storied sports History.
So in essence the Pistons aren't necessarily ahead of schedule, This should've been them "Last Year". This time they have a coach whose actually great at his job that the players actually like and respect. Also they have veterans who are great in the locker room and on the floor. You add two of the most athletic young wings to come out of the draft in recent years (Holland and Thompson) and you got the Celtic Piston rivalry from the 80's reincarnating right before your eyes again.
I believe the Pistons should stand pat until the off season with the possible exception of a secondary playmaker for CAP SPACE.
Lets let this group cook. The Pistons are no longer the dumping ground for the NBA's unwanted toys.
I wouldn’t say turned our season around. We have been fighting to get around .500 ever since we started 1-5 if anything the turn around happened then.
Pistons will be 45/37 this season watch also there will be a major trade before the trade deadline
