Tom Thibodeau disappointed with Knicks’ defensive effort in loss to Minnesota on Friday night | SNY

Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau felt the team’s sub-par defense and rebounding led to their 116-99 loss to the Timberwolves: “We didn’t cover the line the way we needed to. Gave up second shots. Rebounding probably hurt us. Have to do more than one thing and have an awareness defensively.”

  1. Jericho Simms has zero talent skill…. put Hukporti in!! Remember Tibbs states always…" "the game dictates what you do!!"

  2. can someone tell thibs to friggin google how to defend the three??!! he is getting worse. jhart is clearly hurt and he stll has him out there. not only does he not protect his players, he endangers them. and since cam payne was so hot, he clearly needed to take him off the court. smh

  3. I never want to hear again that our depth is the biggest issue…..No it's the fact that we don't have a HC who knows how you utilize and maximize the roster he's given or can't adjustin game is THEE biggest issue….Even when the WORLD can see Cameron Payne on FIRE in the 1st half, this dude doest put him back in until like the 1:48 minute mark in the 3rd…..Similar ISH with Deuce in the previous game…..straight weird0.

  4. Like someone on kftv said, you want them to pack the paint but also run out to close out on 3s on every possession, all while playing 40 minutes a game

  5. this mfer don't have a clue. never had a clue. will never have a clue. can one reporter ask him wat he plans to do differently

  6. Same excuse every game, this is not 90s basketball you must defend the threes and know how to use the bench

  7. Thibs your a big bag of trash .you really talking about if someone gets hot.what do you do when someone gets hot you bag trash you know nothing about coaching your a clown thibs a big dumb dumb

  8. Guys are getting worn down by the 4th. The two best offensive scorers are the teams biggest weakness on defense. Almost the entire squad was hurt last year during the playoffs – Mitch – out, Julius – out, OG – out, Hart – ribs, Jalen – hand. If these guys are run into the ground, Thibs will be forced to play the bench due to attrition. Might as well get some burn for the bench. 18 points in 7 minutes is terrific, let him back out there, needed scoring in the second half, deviate from the rotation. It's a long season and there is a ton of contact on the hardwood. These guys very strong and fast. Time to change it up a little bit.

  9. Its kinda embarrasing watching Sims try and score in the paint, to be in the NBA and have absolutely no offensive game at all? He cant even make a basic 1 hand turn around hook at the rim, Thibs is commiting malfeasance playing him over Huckporti, this guy cant get the most out of his roster like a great championship coach would. Knicks are never sniffing a finals with this clown as coach.

  10. Thibs trying to convince the media that he’s not senile 😂 but in reality he’s passed his expiration date

  11. The problem was you benched the hottest hand that night . In all respect , Brunson could of sat the rest of the quarter and rested while cam continued to force drive that offense ! U felt the impact . When Brunson came back on respectfully, it slowed down again

  12. How about start developing the youngsters to contribute asap and have a game plan based on who is coming in. The idea is to scout adjust your personel.

  13. Knicks peak was last season and it seems like they are going down the hill. This team ceiling is 2nd round at best.

  14. How much time is it going to take this guy to learn how to defend against the 3 and stop hedging to protect paint? F protecting against 2 pointers at the cost of guys draining 3s. Also this is the 2nd time in the last two weeks when he pulled the hot hand too early. Recently it was when Bridges came out of his shooting slump and was on fire and yesterday the "Payne Incident" was insane. Yes Thom….the game tells you what to do….but you ain't fn hearing it!!!! Also, how many fn times are you going to call a time out and your players cannot execute the play. Usually it is a turnover, dribbling down the clock and a bad shot etc. It is freakin maddening. Finally, please don't allow Brunson to turn into Melo. I don't care how many points this guy scores…and how much he grinds the came down to a halt. This isn't "reading the game"…what fn game are you watching!!!!! The Knicks actually excel more when they push it and/or make quicker passes. Less fn dribbling! I get it if you need a critical shot at a critical time…but that shouldn't be done when your are down 9-13pts. You can't dribble down the clock and take a 2 point shot and then fn give up a 3! Do you understand math? F me!
