From what i saw from Jamison last night, Lakers already got what they want in term of a rim protector to play with AD. Despite the three quick fouls he got, Jamison was actually solid and helped deter a number of shots from the rim. Him and AD will be great together. Lakers now need to focus on trading for another scorer like Lavine.
I saw opps altering their shots and awkwardly bouncing off of Jamison he has such a solid frame, just what we needed! So yeah, I think he's a great addition to our squad. I doubt that Dallas would allow Gafford to come to us.

if he was to get traded to the Lakers.. if im Dallas i would ask for Reddish & Hayes given Hayes is another big that can take Gafford spot although i dont think he would be putting Gaffords number & Reddish bc as far as i know, Dallas are looking for a wing defender so it would make sense imo

As much as I like Gafford, I dont know that this is a realistic prospect for a rival team in the west, like you said… Both teams competing to stay top8 and the Mavs while getting Lively back still have a lot of question marks about his long term health. Gafford has been great for them and they are in "win now" mode. I could see this happening if Wood and/or Vando come back and look phenomenal and get the interest of the Mavs – but at that point wouldnt you just want to keep them on the Lakers?
I think the prospect will be either a veteran or up and coming young guy who is stuck solidly as a second option. Someone like JV, Robert Williams, Kelly Olynyk, all fit the sweet spot for uncompetive team with a second string center. A big compensation package could be possible as well for someone like Vuc, Sabonis, Kessler, or even Clint Capela – but you're going to need to offer a really nice trade package.
In my opinion a Jonas Valanciunas would be great to add if he was available for second round compensation as a traditional big in 2 big lineups. He doesn't have a big ego and won't want to start every game so the fit would be perfect for playoffs where the starters will have to be rotating based on matchups. Young guys who just earned their starting spot don't really take being benched very well

Jamison was a solid screener who can bully opponents. I prefer him to Traore and believe Quincy should have been retained.

Lakers doesn't need another center. They have Koloko and Jamison already. Both young, energetic, aggressive and dependable and obviously cheaper. All they need is to trade Jalen Hood Schufino, Christian Wood, Gabe Vincent and maybe 1 second round pick for a shooter. They need to release at least 3 players to include both Koloko and Jamison to the Lakers' roster. No need for Valanciunas or even Kessler.
Dallas isn't trading Gafford to us for players we are willing to let go of. Probably better to focus on something else.

Nope I’m keeping an eye on Lonzo Ball and more perimeter scoring. Connect4 hasn’t been good. AD has proven he’ll always be effective defensively but he has games where he’s not aggressive and we suffer offensively for it. We shouldn’t be chasing expensive centers that won’t be playable in closing minutes anyway.
