How The NBA’s Saddest Team Got To This Point

The New Orleans Pelicans are the NBA’s saddest team. They were originally a young, hopeful team that many folks projected would take over the league with their immense young talent. After the Anthony Davis trade, it seemed like everything was working in their favor…until it wasn’t.

I make all kinds of NBA videos which include analysis, player stories, countdowns, and mysteries. Make sure to leave a like and subscribe if you enjoyed this video!

  1. My All Stars “Street Clothes“ players: Joel Embiid, Kawhi Leonard, Zion Williamson, Mitchell Robinson, Krisporf Porzingis, Podcast George

  2. I blame the amazing cuisine and beautiful women of Louisiana for Zions downfall. If he was drafted to Milwaukee or Utah this wouldnt have happened

  3. Ingram is a multi millionaire getting called stupid by a guy that won’t make half of it cause he turn down a 50 plus million dollar contract

  4. The Pelicans may not have a "Sam Presti" level GM, but it's hardly their fault that their star player, Zion – for all his raw talent and physical gifts – has the weakest mindset we've seen since the downfall of Ben Simmons.

Of course, he's not deliberately injuring himself, but he does NOT do the neccessary work to mitigate future injuries. We're not expecting him to make a turnaround like Curry (who was injury prone early on), but he has no discipline with managing his weight… as a professional athlete! (On paper, that's the easiest part of his job, surely?)

Right now, Zion is borderline untradable. And as a small market team, stars aren't in a rush to join, while the Pelicans simultaneously can't free enough money to attract good free agents.

  5. I haven’t watched the video yet. I’ve watched every game of the Pelicans since Griffin came to town. Let’s see if you get it right. I haven’t seen anybody do it yet. They all copy and paste the same approved storylines. I’ll finish this comment after the video.

Some misfires, some unique takes that are true, a lot of the same. I won’t give the real breakdown. That will take me forever on a forum not suitable for it. The heart of that missing breakdown is an uninterested, clueless owner using the franchise to boost her reputation hiring a sabotaging snake-oil salesman in David Griffin who has built a dysfunctional front office and staff who have failed to hold their pompous, lazy stars accountable. That pretty much sums up about 40 paragraphs of that groups never ending list of mistakes over the last 7-8 years.

  6. I can't believe Zion is getting paid milions for just eating in Nawlins while half of the world are starving to death

  7. Even Dyson Daniels said man the Pelicans Organization is cursed there is always injuries load management and it’s a bad organization we all can tell Zion Williamson doesn’t want to play there and be in New Orleans his family wants him to leave the organization 😂

  8. The problem of the NBA is all about money. Once the players get the max deal, they are no longer to have motivation to play basketball .

  9. How’d you do this whole video without address mismanagement from Gayle, bad decisions from David G, and the obvious medical malpractice or collusion with Oschner who has financial incentive via Gayle. we can’t stay healthy with medical staff who yearns for mediocrity.

  10. Gayle Benson should sell the Pelicans to an ownership group in Seattle and then change their name to the Supersonics

  11. I laughed so much when they got Zion as 1st. I saw this to mamy times, and i knew that they will fumble along with him😂😂😂😂😂

  12. Pro sports should be based on availability and performance. You need to play and you need to play well per game to be compensated millions..

  13. Ingram is so good too 🙁 he's shown he isn't a leader and can't shoulder a whole team but his talent is off the charts man

  14. AD really changed how business is done with top tier athletes across the 3 major American sports

He's really a low life piece of trash. I truly hate him. I really really really hate him. I can't say I feel that way about any one else. I strongly dislike kyrie Irving but AD is just…..such a bad person. No morals, no pride.

He finally gets what he wants and instead of putting the work in and earning titles, he got to just go to a major market team with a huge budget that stars want to play for….then he even goes there and still never plays. Zero heart, zero desire. He doesn't love the game. If he makes the HoF it's a travesty.

  15. Someone needs to take accountability for their borderline CRIMINAL misuse of valancuinas. Dude could be such an impact player and wound up playing 15 minutes a game.

  16. Pelicans have real bad luck with injuries ad was always hurt boogies career basically ended there Ingram missed a lot of time Zion is always hurt and even Murray who just got there has barely played

  17. How did the pelicans screw up this bad with the haul they recieved from the lakers atleast they can get the number 1 pick next year in Cooper flag

  18. I remember a few years ago when they were the 1st seed for a short time. Zion looked like a top 3 player then. Oh how quickly things can change.
