  1. The one thing that stands out to me is how easy it is for teams to score against us, how we have zero offense and we settle too much for threes

  2. Spurs is learning nothing from coach Mitch Johnson and CP3 except how to lose the game, he literally doesn't want to use assets that Pops built in the bench like Mamu, Collins, or Wesley, he wanted Wemby to literally get hurt playing all alone imo…

  3. All of this feels way too familiar. We’re definitely slacking off again, but this won't lead to any progress at all. Making the playoffs? Yeah, right—what a joke.

  4. Pretty much the same group of players last season what you guys think was gonna happen. Playoffs??

  5. No team that scores 11 pts in a qtr should expect to win. Especially the same team that gave up 16 pts in 3 minutes last game.

  6. Gotta be honest…looking at the January schedule, I thought we'd win 3 games this month. We "might" win 3 next month. This team is not disciplined enough defensively to win games. We lose our confidence when teams go on a run. We then start taking poor, quick shots and our defensive focus collapses. Same cycle. Same pattern. I truly believe that we have too many players who are "used" to losing. Devin, Keldon, Tre, Zach, Malachi, Blake – no one seems as mad as Vic. It's worrisome. The Spurs have to acknowledge the lack of growth from this group. The time has come to move on from much of this roster. We are not one or two players away at all. The 'Spurs Way' retired years ago. Building through the draft for this franchise isn't the answer anymore. GSG but man, it's getting ugly and hard to watch.

  7. Give Mamu/Wesley/Branham more of a chance. Especially Mamu right now with Sochan out. We have no offensive threat in the paint with just Wemby because he gets double/triple teamed everytime inside. Doesn't help that we can't punish these instances with kickouts for 3s.

  8. This coach is a bum, just a yes man on the sideline. He is suppose to be Wemby's development coach? I'd keep this guy as far away from Wemby as possible.

  9. It's easy to get physical on defense…. it's not a skill even all it takes is Ur will todo it.. and deflections it's not even hard to do … The spurs nowadays are FLAT OUT SOFT LIKE MARSHMALLOWS

  10. The real issue here is coaching. Mitch Johnson, a greenhorn coach, has by some reason been appointed by Pop as an interim coach while he gets better. Johnson doesn't have it what it takes to push and motivate a young team. Regrettably his inexperience is blossoming as the season progresses and Wemby doesn't like one bit. Mamu has shown a tremendous chemestry with Wemby but he's been relegated as a bench warmer. Is it time to give Brett Brown a chance to lead the team now that the dreadful Rodeo Rod Trip is about to kick in? The Spurs are just three games below .500. The ship can be righted with a few tweaks here and there but Johnson simply needs to ask for guidance or step aside. If the present trend continues, the Spurs won't even make the play-ins or hardly reach the 30 Ws.

  11. Cant wait for becky to come back and bring her championship experience to team.. saw her at game reading wat looked like playbook with tony parker 😳 would be shocked if shes not next in line after pop 😅

  12. This stretch is not Mitch’s fault. The team didn’t execute the game plan and without Remy, our defense for 48 minutes is lacking at this time, especially when Victor is resting. This team has come a long way, but relapse is to be expected. Now we need to bounce back. That simple. 🖤🩶🖤

  13. When we need a score, someone to stabilize the offense when the other team is on a run, it should be Keldon. After that, Devin. Of the young guys, they have the most experience and talent. Then CP and Harrison providing some leadership and making the right plays. Vic is only in his second year and Castle is a rookie. Vic needs to figure out how to play physical and how to play against physical teams.

  14. 0 defense and living by the 3 just ain’t going to work lol. Wemby has to be better. Idk how he’s been 5th on the mvp list

  15. The guy is a young coach and doing his best. I think he certainly can be a head coach day. That being said, he doesn’t really know what he’s doing and also seems like a yes man. The team needs someone that can yell at them.

  16. I don't understand over-helping on drives to the paint. Every great shooter has gotten open looks against us for the past couple of seasons, its the same scheme Pop ran and it requires a full defensive unit that we don't play often or even really have. Just keep the guys on the shooters and live with the paint attacks. If Wemby is as good as we think he is, he won't have to run out and change onto guards covering for CP3 or Vassell who are terrible on D. Let him sit in the paint and probably get fouls. He doesn't commit them much at all so why not let the opp try him again and again.

Wemby cannot last 2-3 quarters now with his stamina, he does too much for someone that big covering the entire floor and expected to be #1,2, 3 option on offence. No wonder he's looked like shit lately.

On offence I'm not smart enough to see what's wrong besides big inconsistency each game and lack of shooting. Very low paint attack is what I see with the stats, very weak penetration to get easier points or spreading the ball from inside out.

Hoping for the best, just seems like a midseason rough stretch.

  17. im sorry but the more DV plays the more we lose, he has an average of -128 plus minus on statmuse, by far the worst on the team. that means almost everytime he is on the court, spurs cant score and definitely can't guard. Usually this sort of stat is for tanking teams but everyone else who is a starter is a positive (even sochan), lead by wemby's +114 avg which is by far the team best followed by CP3

  18. We're half way into the season so let's just break it down into reality.

This current team at best, is mediocre . With such a strong draft class coming up, they would be better off continuing to tank the rest of the season.

  19. Wemby has such a deep bag but settles for too many 3s. It takes away from his game, if they’re not falling he needs to hit the mid-range shots. No big can stand with him on an island

  20. It’s no rocket science: against the Heat, the Spurs scored 42 pts in the paint against 60 for the Heat. When you have one of the best big men in the league with Wemby, that stat explains a lot of missed points. The Heat attempted 33 3s against 40 3s for the Spurs, and the Heat won by more than 20 pts. Dumb poker 3s and lack of presence in the paint are HUGE problems. Add to that a roller coaster Spurs defense, and the team implodes. But it is the depressing offense that rubs off on defense, not the other way around… No rocket science. Mitch speaks well, but his strategy is dumb

  21. I believe that Manu would be the best option to help Wemby on the defensive end. Victor has at least 2 to 3 defenders on him he needs someone with high energy and physicality.
