If this FO is going to actually complete a successful rebuild, in a timely manner, a Bruce Brown situation can't happen. I've been a Masai fan for a very long time but this is an example of a misstep. We'll hold off until after the Feb deadline but …

@benrogers moses moody cant even be traded this year cuz he signed his extension really late.
Masai Ujiri got fleeced! He got a horrible deal for Pascal Siakam. Yes it was his final year but again whose fault was it for not trading him sooner? It's been nothing but one Mistake after another with Masai since 2019.
1)Not trading Lowry Soon enough
( Rumors are Philly was willing to give up Maxxey for Kyle)
2) Trading Norman Powell for Gary Trent Jr
3) Giving up a first for Poetl & then resigning him to a $20 mill/year contract to a C who can't shoot, can't defend the Perimeter & is too slow to block shots & was a UFA in the summer.
4) Not trading Fred , Pascal & OG earlier so we could have gotten much better value in return for those assets. Nothing for Fred & basically nothing in return for Pascal, who was a multiple time all-star, NBA champ & all NBA.
5) Refusing to tank sooner & costing this franchise key & impactful players like Wemby, Brandon Miller, Dereck Lively, Cam Whitmore, Cason Wallace & Keyonte George.
6) Costing us Rob Dillingham in this year's draft due to the Poetl trade.
7) Masai Ujiris Inability to get us impactful players in free agency that can make a difference on the court ( at least average players like Kelly Oubre Jr, Malik Monk, Caldwell Pope, Mo Wagner,etc)
As a fan I am grateful to Masai & the Raptors for the 2019 Championship, but at a certain point when do we as fans ask when are we finally going to start competing & winning again? Not saying I can do better but I don't have 20 years experience & i don't get paid $15 mill/year, he does. All i know is as fans, we deserve better!
@benrogers the reality is bruce brown having surgery missing most of season, coming back and not playing well, his trade value with a 23 million dollar salary match is almost zero if not zero.
last years rumor knicks offered a 1st for brown was likely the wizards 1st that wont convert and is really two 2nds in 2 years.
the buyout is a reality if no teams wants to trade for him or his salary is too big to make a trade with a contender who is in the 2nd apron and cant aggregate salaries. its not as easy to absorb 23 million in salary as it once was.
@benrogers jakob poeltl is likely going to knicks for mitchel robinson and precious and the pistons 2025 1st top 13 protected that is likely to convert.
raptors and knicks have done a trade before, so they have a relationship. so its more like they will be able to do another trade where knicks need a good backup center.
@benrogers in terms of bruce brown, i believe there is actually only two teams really looking for a wing, thats memphis and dallas. if you can ship brown and davion mitchell to grizzlies for one 2nd and filler, it may be the best you get. its not like davion mitchell with his zero offence is coveted other than in spot minutes on a team.
dallas is losing and are looking for a wing, but they dont have the salaries to match brown. so they may just try to trade for ochai agbaji.
its probably omax prosper and dante exum expiring and dallas 2025 1st round pick top 9 protected so it transfer for ochai agbaji
@benrogers the stein report says boucher may not be traded by raptors and they may actually give boucher another contract as boucher is wanting to stay in toronto and raptors front office likes him

they won't buy out. they'll hold on if they can't trade. as for the memphis deal, that would be a steal for the raps. kennard is expiring, clarke and gonchar they'd have for two more years at about 18M combined. The Grizz don't have a 2nd rounder via the Clippers. Clippers don't have any 2nd rounders. maybe they meant the rockets 2nd rounder which would be the 56th pick. still a 2nd rounder in this draft beats a low 1st in last years draft.
