Kyrie Irving appeared to be about to save the day yet again, but then the Dallas Mavericks offense completely collapsed down the stretch in another disappointing loss in the clutch, this time to the Charlotte Hornets. Irving and Daniel Gafford were excellent for most of the game, but PJ Washington, Spencer Dinwiddie, Klay Thompson, and the Mavs supporting cast was not up to the challenge at either end of the floor, unable to score enough at one end and completely unable to stop LaMelo Ball and Miles Bridges at the other. Even Nick Smith Jr. scored a season-high 19 points.

JKidd can’t coach without Luka. Ball hogging without Luka is a reflection as to how the Team takes after him. Big difference is that most of the time Luka will make something happen at the very last moment, the rest of the team can’t.

Well people are frustrated on Kidd because he only has one gameplan, iso for Luka or Kyrie. Now that Luka's out he is putting guys into position to play into that kind of role which is ridiculous. And we all know Bobby working for the Mavs, he ain't talking shit to Kidd 😂

Getting Klay created some holes in the team. Perimeter defense is bad now, might have to trade Gafford which would create another hole.. etc
Now Klay is too respected to be moved to the bench, and will be with the Mavs for 3 seasons. Very little flexibility with him.
I’d rather klay get traded instead of Grimes. Grimes is only 24… Klay is almost 35 and out of the league. The Mavs should prioritize keeping quality role players who are young. Grimes probably would close but Klay is a priority even tho he doesn’t contribute much in the closing minutes. But he’s untouchable.
I’ve said since September, the Mavericks set a terrible precedent to start the season. Luka missed every preseason game, Kyrie missed games, and Kidd was lackadaisical from day 1. They let their momentum from the playoffs disappear. Kidd, Luka, and Kyrie set a terrible tone by starting the season losing. Losing is fine. Missing games with a bruise is fine. Losing is now the culture. The Mavs have a leadership problem starting with their passive coach. They do not have a talent problem.
Jason Kidd is an absolutely horrific coach. This iso heavy offense with zero off ball movement and action, it doesn’t create easy shot opportunities, his ATO’s out of timeouts are all primary option iso sets with no secondary weakside options. His rotations at times make no sense. Jason Kidd is killing this team
