  1. That’s not the goal this year, they won’t even move off of Marcus Smarts $20m contract or give up a single draft pick. They definitely aren’t in WIN NOW mode yet

  2. Grizzlies haven’t invested in any small forwards with experience and that’s probably the most important position to defend in the postseason. Wing depth shallow and center defense suspect

  3. Morant/Bane/Wells/JJJ/Edey-Smart/Kenard/Williams/Aldama/Clarke-Pippen/Konchar/LaRavia/Huff/Spencer||| Honestly, if they aren't getting Durant, Zion or PG, I don't think they should mess with this.

  4. I imagine Cam Johnson or Claxton might be an ok trade up, but I think the players they'd part with, might not be the position you'd want to trade for those players? LaRavia and Aldama are a super bargain atm, so I don't think you are getting better deals than that atm for roster spots. So, I could see some Wing playing instead of Smart/Kenard (who get injured a lot), but this is a go big or go home situation. I think OKC might outbid them for Cam Johnson, who seems like a better fit since he could play some 3 maybe than Claxton. John Collins might be ok. I don't think Julius Randle fits this system, I don't think a Conley reunion makes sense. If Dallas sinks, than maybe Naji Marshall is a good fit, but they could have tried to pay him, so maybe that isn't a great fit. But whose contract is 29-35 mil that really pushes the needle enough. But yea, PG or Durant tbh. Maybe Zion if they feel very confident in the reunion with Ja.

  5. Grizzlies are a deep team, but the playoffs are about how good your top players are.

This is why i’m not 100% sold on these regular season team performing well in the playoffs – OKC, Memphis, Houston.
