00:00 Just how do you kind of process a loss like this?
00:15 STEPH CURRY: I have no idea. It’s just a tough one from the end of the first quarter through the rest of the game. Thought we came out with pretty good life and energy. Big part of our season has been when we can’t score, we lose spirit. We lose life. We lose competitiveness. You can get away with it against some teams. Against the defending champs, it’s not a good formula for success
00:42 How does this team stay afloat the next week or week plus without Draymond and Kuminga?
00:48 Next man up mentality. Everybody who steps foot on the floor gotta be able to perform, bring a spirit of you belong and do it together as a unit. Didn’t happen tonight. We, obviously — I had nothing really to show for the 36 minutes tonight. And it’s gonna get tougher, like you said, without two starters who, one who’s incredible at getting it to the basket, getting us some good possessions. Draymond, what he does on the defensive end, but you gotta believe that you have enough to win any given night. You have to believe that. We’re a team that you can find a way to execute on both ends of the floor. It’s a mentality thing before it’s a physical thing, I think.
01:44 Steph, Kevon said that one of the hardest things after a loss like this is shutting out the outside noise. And I’m just wondering, how do you do that? I know you hear the outside noise. Do you wanna shut it out and if you do wanna, how do you do it?
02:02 We, I mean, guys have been in this situation which, I mean, Tune saying that he — I think he knows how to do it. It’s just a matter of — I don’t know if you read stuff, if you hear stuff, you got family members that wanna talk about what we need to do, like, whatever it is, you gotta be — human nature — you have to be able to just focus on what you individually need to do to get ready for the next game. We need to have positive vibes in our locker room, no matter what happens in a win or a loss. And you just gotta be able to come with the right attitude. Like I said, it’s a belief thing that we can win whatever game is in front of us, an endgame. It’s more so like an endgame thing. Like, if doubt creeps in or if a mindset that you’re not supposed to be on the floor, a team that’s unbeatable. Like, I don’t know what it could be, what it is. You have to be able to just focus on what we need to do. And I hope it works out.
03:14 Steph, obviously you’ll enjoy a day of rest tomorrow, but Steve was talking about games that you flush and this was one of them. How eager are you to get back on the floor in Sacramento and kind of right the ship and get back to what you guys know how you can play?
03:28 I mean, they’re playing well, so it’s another tough challenge. You gotta — that’s what you’re supposed to say. It’s what you’re supposed to do after getting beat by 40. You have to be able to not dwell on the past. You gotta be real about the fact that we’re not playing good basketball and playing consistent basketball night to night. Let’s be real about that. But to your point, yeah, nobody wants to sulk or have their head down and come shootaround on Wednesday morning and be ready to play against another good team.
04:07 Steph, I asked Looney just because you’re playing the Celtics, how long ago June 2022 feels like? He said it feels like an eternity ago. Do you feel that same way? Does it seem like that long ago? Does it seem like your team is so changed from kind of what was…

04:07 Steph, I asked Looney just because you're playing the Celtics, how long ago June 2022 feels like? He said it feels like an eternity ago. Do you feel that same way? Does it seem like that long ago? Does it seem like your team is so changed from kind of what was happening then?
04:26 Yeah, we have an entirely different roster, pretty much. Obviously, especially without Draymond out there. But you look across, they have, besides Porzingis, they have pretty much the whole rotation still, so. And they are the defending champs, so they're coming in with the level of confidence and swagger about them. And it's the exact opposite of what we have right now, so yeah. Obviously great memories, but definitely feels like a long time ago.
04:59 Steph, beyond yourself as a three-point shooter, how much do you guys need to kind of diversify your offense and maybe get to mid-range, go to the hoop more? I seem to recall, after you guys lost to the Lakers in the playoffs a couple years ago, you said, we can't always rely on the three. And your great teams had many ways to score. I mean, when the shots aren't falling like they are tonight, do you feel like that would help to find other ways? And obviously, Jonathan being out hurts that, I realize.
05:27 Yeah, that is the — if you're not making shots — one, it's about what kind of shots you're creating. It doesn't mean — every three is not created equal. Like, if you're moving the ball and swing, swing, swing and you're playing against closeouts and you're finding good threes, usually the vibe is better even if you're missing, but if they're tough threes or the stagnant possessions, then the diversification of our offense becomes a kind of a glaring hole. I don't know where the answer is on that because, again, we're built off of ball movement and trying to play against closeouts and when that's not happening, we can struggle to score. It's kind of been shown. I think we went four minutes at the end of the first without a field goal. And we had one free throw and that kind of fed into the beginning of the second quarter. That's pretty much the game right there 'cause not only is it we're struggling to score, it gives the other team confidence 'cause they know we're locking them up. They go in transition and they're playing free. So the offense has to help your defense and more times than not, it hasn't for us.
06:51 Steph, knowing how valuable your offense is, how do you measure when you're doing well or when you're doing what you're supposed to be doing, is it made shots? Is it other stuff–
07:04 Are you talking about the team or — ?
07:05 You, individually. How do you know when it's like, "Okay, I'm doing my thing." Has it come to like, you just simply have to score because of the offensive struggles or is it just as kind of vast as it used to be? Basically, has it changed this year with the situation, offensively?
07:24 I mean, I have to score and try to get good looks, but there's times, like even tonight there was a couple of situations where we got a domino to fall. I got two on the ball and I got it off and we got a swing-swing to a three and we missed it, a couple of second possessions where you got the defense scrambling, they're gonna fly at me or try to double and I get it off. Like, those are good possessions cause you're creating an advantage and you're creating good movement. And like I said, not all threes are created equal or shots are created equal. Like, a good successful possession doesn't have to be me shooting and it can just be we're making the defense fly around and creating a good look. Obviously, we have to make those and make the defense pay. I think overall it's not gonna look the same every given night just based on how much attention I get, but we can still have good offensive possessions and, again, allow that to help our defense. And if we're gonna be a consistent team that has to be every night and it hasn't been.
08:29 Steph, you've got this long stretch that you're at home except for Wednesday night. How important is this to kind of stabilize things or, get it back on the right track?
08:42 It's incredibly significant for our season. You'd hope to be a good — a better home team than you are on the road. You'd hope to be able to defend your home court. And when you have a stretch of the schedule like this, whereas you don't have to get on a plane and you can, hopefully, come out and be the hardest-working team on a given night and allow that to help you. We'll see. We'll see how we respond to it. And if we can take advantage of this stretch — tonight was not great, Captain Obvious statement — but just the idea that we can keep ourselves afloat until we get some guys back can kind of make or break our season, to be honest, to keep it real. Like, you we've been in situations where we've had to chase down the stretch after the All-Star Break and I think two years of that takes a lot out of you. So you have to find a way to stay in the race and the standings. There's — nobody's counting game by game type thing, but it, like, to your point, a six-to eight-game stretch can kind of define where we are going for the rest of the season.

get this man some help
It’s sad to see the last few Curry years going to waste😩😤🤬
I think it's time to put away the gsw merch guys 😔 all hope fading away
Do yourself a favor Steph, please retire, golf, enjoy your family and leave this mess
The opportunity to make the next big move came and went. I'm a Charlottean. Born and Raised. We went all out to get him.He choose his path. He still has time but it's running out fast. We could've used his experience, dedication, skill, drive. We are young and hungry. You'll make your money. Last chance Steph. Come home. GO CHARLOTTE HORNETS!
Zach Lavine healthy and available plus a center would be great
every team study steve kerr strategy so steph is wash out all.he can do is do the thing they never do..
All along Steve thinks his team is deep enough to compete well as much as I know they are so deep in Guards position and not at all in their front court and their front court is not even the best it's just regular how can you compete? You hardly beaten the worst team the other day! 😢😅😅
Still not giving up 💪 fighting Warriors until it’s over 💪 good luck Steph Curry and the rest of the team and coaching staff hopefully 🙏 you all figure it out and hopefully 🙏 win all of the coming games
Curry gotta play the game you can’t quit when you loosing by 40 b
You all been spoiled by GSW greatness that we all know wont last.
Just savor and enjoy Currys greatness on his last yrs.
This hurts, its like trying to stop an avalanche with your bare hands. He is in the thick of it, like trying to catch smoke armed only with a butterfly net
Wow I’m a GSW hater and this whole interview was tough to watch. Steph don’t even look happy. He looks like he’s ages ten years.
The team as a whole need to spend more out of arena practice and ball time together.
Bonding keep going out dinner 🥘 team building play cards, dominos, watch a few funny movies 🍿 just hang out together then play some fun baseball together. Bond bond bond💓You all can do it, I believe in you All🙏
Hope the warriors realize now without kuminga how valuable he really was to the team .
These NEW RICH FANS, going to games have made the warriors home court advantage none existent. These ticket prices drove out the real fans, the ones that got loud , chanted gave the players energy . Crowd has terrible energy. Went from the best home court to the likes of being a bottom 3 home court .
1; You are need to improve your denfence ( lock in, basic defence movement, work on your support, organisation and your precipitation) !!!
2; In offence : BAG improvement for more diversity (individual), the others are need to do their thing (not only Steph)
