Where did this insistence on trading Gafford even come from? We just need some big wing depth. We don't need to move Gafford to do it. Nonsense.
I don’t see the mavs making a trade however I do think there will be a big buyout market. Ben Simmons will be bought out and I can see the Mavs taking a swing on him.

I know centers, forwards and guard's, wings are best with sauce and blowby percentage lol
1st. You trade Gaff for herb Jones and fix not signing DJJ(POA DEFENDER) only if trade for a good back up for cheap(So far Valanciuness fits that bill).
2nd. They need to go to Gaff and see what he thinks about a Extension. If he will accept 16 to 18 a year. Then give it to him. You can trade him later if need be but you can't lose him after next season for nothing(Nico already been in a JB type situation and he better have learned from it).
The Mavs would be crazy to move him! I keep hearing how the GM shouldn’t give up on him yet. Give up on what? Daniel G playing like a top 5 center in the nba.

It's simple another shooter/scorer. Defense is pretty good but for the last 15 games we're not scoring down the stretch. Healthier would be the real solution, but our offense is erratic at best now. yeah 14 of last 18 are losses. "Play- IN!"
Dallas needs to keep Galford
If someone needs to be traded it should be Klay and Kleiber
This team needs nothing more. They just have a boxing out issue. This same team beat OKC without Shai. However, they kept giving up second chance points which led to them blowing a 20 point lead.
When you have to play defense for 2-3 possessions in the row, you won’t have energy to score on the other end, especially with key players injured.

They need to move up Sharpe. Trade Powell and Kleber . Give Klay some time to adjust it took Kyrie a season to get comfortable

U can't get a significant trade piece w just Gafford. If Dallas wants to win now it's for a Butler. That would require Gafford, PJ, Naji, and 2 1st rounders. Our bench is still deep enough to take a hit, and the starting lineup would be too much for even Boston. But any other players that's not of that tier wouldn't get Dallas over the hump. U would just be trading needs.
We need health, not necessarily new pieces. When the teams is full assembled we can beat anybody. Gafford shouldn’t go but if he does we’d need 2 elite defensive players in return

Klay Thompson is garbage and needs to go
Gafford should only be traded for all-star level swing forward that can add strong defense and be a backup to P J Washington. Otherwise, it makes no sense to get weaker at the center position if you not getting stronger at the perimeter defense. The problem with trading for an all-star level defender is going that kind of player will too expensive. The player that is not being able to contribute to the offense hardly at all is Kleber. The problem is other teams do not want him in a trade.
Gafford was a key addition to the team that led to Dallas winning the western conference finals last year.. him and Washington. He fits very well to the Dallas style of play. Kleber and Exum should be the ones out.
At least this guy makes sense – other Mavs’ analysts are dumb in even discussing that the org should trade him over Powell, Kleber and the others. Quite dumb

It makes no sense to trade Gafford. It makes more sense to trade Kleber.
Remains that the center position is a weakness. Lively (still) inconsistent and injury prone. Gafford not versatile enough. Valanciunas for 2nd rounders and cut or send Powell. Reinforce the centers!
