The GREATEST Team That NEVER Was

The GREATEST Team That NEVER Was

The OKC Thunder drafted three future Hall of Famers in three consecutive drafts from 2007 to 2009. But just before they all entered their prime, they were broken up and the basketball world lost what could’ve been a dynasty.

  1. OKC had the blueprint for a dynasty and traded it away over $4 million. Imagine prioritizing short-term savings over a team with 3 future MVPs… This might go down as the biggest "what if" in NBA history…

  2. Please make a video of the 2002 Kings. One of the best teams ever assembled and their playstyle was very much ahead of its time. And how will they fare in today's era of basketball?

  3. Crazy that they been able to rebuild a top tier team so fast Shai and the rest of the Thunders young players are balling right now

  4. We all know this page is a Lebum fanboy, but please stop bringing him always in your videos man. Its getting sicker every vids.

  5. Two incredibly bad decisions stopped that team from being a dynasty: 1) The team doctor for OKC (Carlan Yates) not clearing Tyson Chandler for his physical for supposed foot problems 2) Trading Harden. Had Chandler been cleared OKC would have probably never traded Harden anyway because they would have started winning championships. Lebron would have one less ring and Dallas wouldn't have won that one plus the Warriors never would have happened.

  6. Every team KD has been on is a coulda shoulda woulda, besides the warriors. Hes not the guy, neither is Westbrook, harden was for a few years but he wasted them in Houston.

  7. If the refs gave that foul on durant the game was going on overtime. They could go 2-0 in the finals and that would have been a whole different story

  8. Sam Presti gets way too much credit as a GM. Trading harden in 2012 was one of the worst moves in NBA history

  9. Failed to mention that in that series against the spurs in the western conference finals, Ibaka went down with injury. Still think we would have won if he didn't.

  10. Hear me out for a sec: Look at 2021 memphis, starters barely played together but when they did they won ja mip jaren dpoy and the +/- on the game they all played vs thunder was and avg of +29, they won the game by 73 points.

Why am i talking about this? The thunder had something in common kd russ and paul george (mvp seasons) had steven adams.

Just saying keep an eye on houston.

  11. Talking about that disastrous decision of trading Harden, Somehow I have a strange feeling: If OKC hasn’t got that close to the champ, for example lose in semi, their manager won’t be that blind. Sometimes getting too close to success makes you losing calm

  12. Oklahoma doesn't suck unlike John Cena said and they're not losers cause they won the NBA title in 1979 and he even existed being 2 plus Goldberg is from and was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma and he's 1 of the most dominant qrestlers

  13. I don't think the Thunder were able to keep Harden no matter what. When a player doesn't get the money he wants, more often than not, that player would silent protest for the majority of the following season if they kept him on the team. Giving less effort on the court, not listening to coaches, etc. So instead of dealing with that headache, they traded him. And that would also explain why the Thunder got less in return for him, because they didn't have leverage in trade talks.

  14. Rarely in the NBA does a franchise, have the opportunity to be successful… Not once but twice. If you get lightning in a bottle more than once, you are truly blessed!

  15. Okc is best small market at drafting and rebuilding, but they dont want to pay anybody .just like Steelers and packers ,they win enough to revlante but never big enough to consider contender

  16. Carmelo Anthony is so overrated. Stagnated the Knicks for years, and ruined the one chance they could get better (his ego not letting Jeremy Lin be the star), could never do well when the offense wasnt about him. If you gave any nba player the green light, i bet you he could score at a similar rate.

  17. BORN AND RAISED IN OKLAHOMA CITY AND THIS VIDEO JUST REOPENED a scar that finally closed since this new Thunder team we have are making a statement. Westbrook Is my all time favorite PG. Much love for this Thunder team, at least we got to the finals. Serge Ibaka was a beast for sure, OMG what the 2012 Playoffs were for us and the CITY!!!
