The Sacramento Kings have the Heart of a Lion | Locked On Kings

Matt George reacts to the Sacramento Kings’ loss to the Denver Nuggets, where the Kings had every reason to quit down 25 on the 2nd night of a back-to-back, but kept fighting and made it a game in the end.

  1. See if they were coming back with Jokic on the floor, I would say thats a moral victory, but the fact that they came back when Jokic was off the floor, thats not a moral victory, most teams can do that. To have any kind of Moral Victory, you got to not be getting blown out when Jokic is on the floor.

  2. Some points since I actually watched this game:
    – Jokic reentered the game when the Nuggets were still up by 14 with around 8:30 left
    – The lead got cut to 5 with less than a minute left

  3. Resting Fox might be risky, but DeMar has been playing very consistent while Fox hasn't been great (he only shot 30% tonight). Also, I think the Kings are still chucking up too many three attempts even when the team is clearly cold. And Jokic pretty much owned Sabonis tonight, even though Domas had some massive but deservedly overshadowed numbers. Also, I notice that Sabonis passes up soooo many open shots looking for a pass, even when he had a turnover under the basket . Not a fan of that passive play. And Huerter should've become a DNP quite sometime ago. This season, he's shooting 42% and only 30% on three pointers (Red Velvet fever was only a couple years ago). If McDermott can have even a modicum of consistency where plays like tonight, I think that's a much better idea.

  4. keegan needs far more physicality, his game is becoming one dimensional as he is not a playmaker by any means and his offensive bag is somewhat limited to catch and shoot. i think the warriors should be deathly afraid of keegan considering he has curry guarding him. he's not a scrub but i would trade high on him honestly what does a keegan murray contract extension look like?

  5. Id give doug mcdermott ALL of huerter's minutes. Sure doug's defense sucks, but huerter isnt much better and hes been a complete liability on offense. Its 4v5 when huerter steps on there. Id be open to giving doug a longer leash and seeing what he can provide offensively with a slightly increased role

  6. One of the only losses that I actually wasn’t mad at. Tough back to back against a really good Denver team in their home. Doug Christie’s kings showed they can always battle back from big defecits, usually coming up with a win, but can’t win them all
