There is no guarantee that even if we got the number 1 pick, they would pan out…can you say Greg oden? And even if we tanked, we may not end up with a top 3 pick
Love the show – You can't blame the team for starting the vets untill the trade deadline for trade value / showcase. After the deadline it's a different story, if they are still here they should be benched
You guys act like it’s a guarantee that we’re.a contender if we get the 5th pick next year. Whatever 19 year old you get will take 3 years to be as good as Jerami Grant is now. Which means you’ll want to tank next year as well to replace Simons and then another year to replace AD and then maybe you’re a competitor or maybe not. I like the guys we have unless we can trade for a superstar which seems very unlikely.
I understand Grant doesnt fit the timeline.
Thybulle became the odd man after Camara showed hes our wing and Portland need to develop Rupert.
Timelord need to go because we have too many C and Ayton is almost impossible to be traded, rather keep him for now.
But i cant understand why Anf doesn't fit the timeline. Hes still young, by far the best shooter, market is quite limited for him and return is going to be so bad..
I don’t think holding onto Ayton is as bad as you think. Clingan doesn’t even have an nba body yet and can’t play 30+ a game anyways. Holding onto him for another year and he can become a UFA, and hopefully Clingan by then has an nba body and endurance. Grant needs to go by the deadline no matter what, because he’s taking time away from our younger forwards. Simon’s can go but shouldn’t force it unless we get value for him. He’s still young and I think he plays into more value anyways. The main problem I have with the scoot situation is that they’re not utilizing his playmaking ability and I often see him sitting in the corners.
Really losing interest in this channel. Pretty masochistic/nihilistic and cynical broadcasts. Not really a post game show anymore when you don’t break down the game or talk ball at all… Just whine and moan about management and then move on to young hopeful prospects.
Solid show fellas! Skipped the game but watched your show late. I agree with all of your frustrations. Many of us saw this coming. It’s agonizing to be Blazers fan right now. Painful. All my homies hate Joe Cronin.
