If SGA and Jokic both miss the next 10 games the Thunder would be a .500 level team at worst. The other players outside of SGA are objectively better than the other players outside of Jokic. Especially since Jokic makes them as good as they are and they need to play off of him to be successful.
With all that being mentioned, Jokicβs stats are insane AND his team is a top 4 seed (could end up #2). Iβd give the MVP to Jokic but SGA is playing at an MVP level.
Sure! The Lakers need a Jokic! That's like saying "the Lakers need to draft Kareem + Larry Bird in one!" Because that's what Jokic is. Best player to enter the NBA since Lebron. Lakers are not drafting that even if they had the #1 pick! Lebron should have won 5 MVPs because he was the best player. And Jokic should win this MVP because he's much more impactful. No dude I disagree on what you think the MVP should be. By your definition they should Change the name. If you look at PER, BPM, usage, and the traditional stats. It should be Jokic all day. My take on OKC is this, do people believe OKC is a championship team? OKC is a young team plays at a fast pace, lots of energy, but how will they play when things will slow down, when every little bit of defence really matters, reminds me of young GS when they lost the championship to Cavs. I know everyone will blame Draymond for that, but frustration was the slowliness, tough shots, missed shots, thats playoff basketball. Celtics plays the same as Denver they slow the game down when need it.

It's alright to be on the fence between Jokic and SGA. What's annoying is so many commentators saying SGA has a massive lead. It feels like they have already decided and aren't even watching Denver games.
The only case for shai is his team record because jokic has him beat in almost every stat and is breaking record or setting and matching record that have been set by wilt. Shai isnt breaking individual record. His only case over jokic is his team record. Not to mention jokic currently has the record for plus minus beat. A record he had broken in 2022 that was held by michael jordan and he is about to break it again. Love shai but come on now. If jokic finishes second or 3rd in the west he has to get the mvp. People gonna look back at arguably the best statistical season of all time and be wondering why this player didnt get the mvp if he doesnt get it.
