The Eastern Conference is a Confusing MESS

The Eastern Conference is a Confusing MESS

Through the first half of the NBA season the Eastern Conference is a chaotic mess. The Cleveland Cavaliers are suddenly a juggernaut and on pace for one of the best records of all time. The Boston Celtics are also scary but not as convincing as last season. The New York Knicks and Milwaukee Bucks have a lot of talent but have huge ups and downs that leave them not very convincing. The Orlando Magic have remained towards the top of the East despite major injuries to Paolo Banchero, who just returned, and Franz Wagner. The Indiana Pacers are figuring it out while the Philadelphia 76ers are not figuring it out with a ton of injuries. In the meantime, the Miami Heat are dealing with a massive Jimmy Butler trade saga as he tries to force himself to the Phoenix Suns. Oh and the Detroit Pistons are actually kinda good. It’s an extremely weird conference that has given us some wild unpredictability up until this point and it’s only gonna get crazier. Let’s talk about it.

  1. It's not confusing at all. The Cavs will be in the Finals, and everyone else is playing for the right to avoid the Cavs for as long as possible in the playoffs. Pretty simple.

  2. Knicks will get injuries from their coach tom tibs running them into the ground by playoff time again or worse like chicago derrick rose blowing out his knee

  3. A couple weeks ago I would’ve said Celtics but now its the Cavs going to the finals. The Celtics have not looked good the past couple weeks but the Cavs are elite talent and depth

  4. As a celtics fna i cant wait to play the cavs theyre the best team in the east this year, they play a fun fair kind of game its super enjoyable

  5. the heat arent really that bad, theyve always been a few games over .500 for like three years. so stop hating. the young guys have a 3 game winning streak

  6. I believe most of Lamelo's allstar votes are mainly because he leads all eastern guards in ppg which places him at the top of the selection ballot when you vote. This ppg effect has probably also contributed to SGA getting more votes than guys like Steph despite the game being in his backyard.

  7. The thing about the Celtics is absolutely a 4th quarter problem. Through the first 3 quarters, they are damn near identical to last year's team, building huge leads going into the 4th, and then the 4th starts and it's one thing to take your foot off the gas, it's a classic Celtics thing to just forget how to play any sort of basketball every now and then, but now it's happening all the time during the most important part of the game.

  8. Great video man I love your stuff. Keeps me in the NBA loop without having to scavenge for the storylines myself

  9. Knicks might be 0-5 against top tier teams but put them in a 7 game series with them and it's a different story. Their really good. They'll probably be to tired to get to the championship but then they might surprise everyone too. I trust the Cavs over everyone else in the east. Okc is winning the west and the championship. I don't see them losing a 7 game series at all. Their scary freaking good.

  10. I’ve watched almost every Cavs game since before LeBron came back. This current squad is the most methodical, strategic and impressive rebuild I’ll probably ever see. There is so many positives. I mean, look at Ty Jerome. We sign this random guy over the summer and he is suddenly a starter quality role player who just gives us a huge punch off the bench. The Cavs management have made decision after decision like this for years now. It’s crazy

  11. I'm a Magic fan and the continuous injuries make me want to off myself but the way we play DESPITE the injuries makes me very happy 😁In a perfect world where everybody is healthy by the playoffs, I think we can make the ECF. Truthfully, as long as we win a playoff series this year, I'm happy

  12. Feels like the 17-18 season. Juggernaut Warriors are not the #1 seed but still find a way to win the conference as they are the more tested team

  13. 7:32 As someone who used to live in LA, I know exactly how much I trust Doc Rivers.

As far as I can throw him…

  14. The Cavs are either gonna be the 2015 warriors in the playoffs or the 2015 hawks lol, there's no in between

  15. I still refuse to believe the Celtics just forgot how to play defense over the offseason. They were the number 2 defense last year and they should still be top 3-4 but they just aren't doing that. Most teams aren't even scheming against them that vigorously because it's almost impossible to. They also will probably be better after the all star break. I still think the Celtics should be favorites especially given the seven game format of the playoffs.
