Miami Heat: Which teams could “rent” Jimmy Butler for rest of season? | Five on the Floor

Jimmy Butler wants to go to Phoenix because he knows the Suns will give him a significant contract extension. But that is a challenging trade, and it hasn’t happened yet. So would another team consider trading decent assets for Butler, even if it did not want to keep him beyond this season, and even if that made it a non-starter for him? Ethan Skolnick and Greg Sylvander discuss the Grizzlies option, among others.

  1. Wish we could get a quality player for Butler. Jaylen Wells at Memphis is a very good rookie talent perfect fit for the Heat. Get this over soon, well trade deadline is looming. Get the Bam/Herro/Ware launched full thrust and make the adjustments necessary to win some games. Maybe I'm expecting too much of Ware, though possibly he's ready to shock the NBA? I'm hoping for a few more breakout games for #7 to solidify Ware as Roy. Maybe 30-15, 4 bk.

  2. Changing the “I think you’re scared” to “We have enough” in the intro would make it flow a little better and it’s also fitting for us right now 🤣.

  3. Why not ask for Tyus Jones and his minimum contract. Now he can play stater and keep Terry from the bench.

  4. Ya know what's funny as hell..Jimmy came from where?…anyway…sometimes looking at the so called smaller details don't matter..,do…The old Jimmy die hard Jimmy couldn't or wouldn't think UP this…sometimes hey gotta play the hand delt…and if it means being a villain..funny the label isn't looked at in the same light

  5. I think Ethan is on the same page as I am right now. Jaylen Wells and Ryan Dunn are both slam dunks for where Miami is and what they have brewing with Jovic, Ware, and Tyler.

They need a point of attack defender next to Tyler at all times. Both of those guys are great cause they can defend, but they can also be used as cutters and options to kick it to in the perimeter. Wells being more balanced, Dunn being the defense-leaning option.

I think Miami should be trying really hard to get Kuminga. I think he would be a phenomenal weapon for Jovic and Tyler, he can defend, he has great size, length, and athleticism. He’s becoming a really good driver, and I think the contract he is seeking that
GSW clearly doesn’t want to give him will be a bargain.

I would be ready to pair Jaime with Jimmy to try and get him, maybe Highsmith, although I would prefer to keep H. I would even be willing to trade Bam for him if GSW would include at least 2 FRPs. But I c would definitely be making a point right now to have enough cap space to sign him in the offseason.

  6. Ethan you all are hating on Jimmy with all the negative talk. All of a Sutton he can't defend, he not that good bullshit. You all suck especially you ethan!@

  7. Ethan so just because he want his money you all say he doesn't want to win that's crazy. I can want to win and I want to get paid as well you idiots.
