Heat should sit butler until season end
Can the Heat assign Butler to their G League Team the Skyforce. If they can they should make him play there and if he refuses then they can suspend him without pay. This would keep him away from the team and make him work for his paycheck. The Skyforce might even sell some extra tickets. I haven't heard anyone in the media discussing this option.

I'd like to know if, as we get really close to the trade deadline. If there is no movement on the Phoenix trade front and there is no other option open to Jimmy, would he change his tune and say, OK, I'm willing to play this year in Memphis? At least it looks like Memphis wants him and he would have a good chance with them, they are an excellent team.

I dont think he has anything left.. those playoff runs were great. But i dont think Pat and Spo want to keep being a play in team every year cause he takes the regular season off. That four team deal is a Heat having the cake and eat it too. In that deal, your're
1. Getting rid of the headache of Jimmy, and the media off of Spo's back. (main)
2. Not taking on Beal's albatross contract. (Money and the no-trade that carries). Have some other shlub team take it for you.
3. Get expiring contracts (Brown/Olynyk), so you can still be good in the short term so later have cap flexibility to chase Luka or Giannis.
4. Not only NOT give up any of MIA's 2nd rounders or 1st, but also expecting to still get some of PHX's.

Teams like Bulls or Raptors should be compensated more. The Jimmy problem started with the Heat first, yet it appears other teams (non Heat/non Suns) teams are ending up with the Jimmy/Beal tax.
The framework is workable, but the draft pick portion is not fairly distributed. Like not at all. If Bulls get Beal, they should get all of PHX's picks. And TOR and MIA should be chipping in with 2nd rounders at the least, since PHX is too draft capital poor.

Wes, stop it. You're not GM material. Your 4-way trade idea is laughable. Beal won't waive his no trade clause to go to Chicago, a bad team in a cold weather city.
It's not just a coincidence, Beal waived his no trade for Phoenix and would for Miami, both potentially good teams in warm weather cities that are desirable to live in year around.
So that trade scenario is a non-starter because Beal won't waive his no trade for Chicago.

I've been saying this, and nobody else has thought of this. This is logical and works by CBA trade rules.

Jimmy to Chicago for Lonzo Ball (expiring contract) their Center (only one year left on his contract) and a pick would also make sense for both team.
Jimmy, Zach LaVine, Coby White, and whoever else Chicago has would actually be a respectable team.
Jimmy to NO for Ingram ( expiring contract) another player, and a pick.
I know Jimmy can opt out, but if there's no market for him. He's not optng out of $52 million
Trey Murphy III, Murray, CJ McCullum, Butler, and Zion, if all healthy, could actually be a really good team

None of these teams would call Miami about trades like this, but would certainly listen and could potentially be pursued to do these deals if only Heat President Pat Riley was doing his job better
