This Could Be The End Of The Dream For The Raptors..

The Toronto Raptors have won 4 of their last 5 games and could now be making a push up the standings right as we approach the NBA trade deadline. Is it too late for the team to make a playoff push and should they focus on the draft lottery for players like Cooper Flagg, Ace Bailer and Dylan Harper.

Here’s what they should really be planning.

  1. If were gonna try to save the season we should at least see what our first round picks worth on the market right now

  2. 🏀 I’m glad they are winning some games, keeps the players engaged and excited to get out onto the court and feel like they have a chance to win

  3. I’ve been team tank as soon as the injuries started! They can be such a solid team with just the one year tank. Good deal to me!

  4. 2:34
We got hurt early, played the young guys, stayed competitive, but lost a lot.
Then we put the young guys on rotational assignments, and the vets came back.
We start winning a bit a now.

Trade the vets to the contenders by the deadline, and re-incorporate the young guys to play against a 7 game tough stretch and then our "easiest stretch"
Rack up those wins, and confidence, and roll into the play-in/offs.

For saying this would be like 2022/23, it's completely different. Because we're playing Darko-ball, not selfish-ball.

This might be better than "praying for Cooper"

I also think there's a Hasheem Thabeet, or Derrick Williams level player at the top of this draft.

  5. They're probably going to trade most of the vets to get some value back hopefully. They need to pivot quick, it's the best strategy for the long-term vision of this team. Great vid, Jacob!

  6. Not buying the argument.
As it stands, the team is not good enough and do not have the resources to trade in order to improve.
Considering where they are right now, getting into a playoff position would just be papering over some obvious cracks and cheating themselves.
They just cannot compete with larger teams.
Staying in a lottery position is the only sensible path.

  7. I don’t like how to get good picks in the draft you have to be bad/tank they need to change the way the draft works

  8. I honestly believe that the Raptors can make a push for that play in spot if they get Quickley back and staying healthy as for the rest of the team but the percentage of that happening is like 0.02%. I still predict the Raptors to win 25 games at least just 13 more to go

  9. Tank. start trading players for picks. We need higher ceiling players' , draft is the best way to find them.

  10. It the team stays relatively healthy, a tank is going to be really challenging. The only remedy would be to off-load Bruce, Kelly and Chris at the deadline. The problem with that would be the minimal return.

  11. Hawks were a play in team and got the first pick. Pistons were last and got the 5th pick. In the end bottoming out doesn’t guarantee a top 3 pick any more.

  12. 12 wins is a big hole to be in at almost the all star break. They need to get rid of Bruce Brown and Olynyk, and maybe even Boucher even though I'm a huge fan of his. I dont even want to be an 11 seed. I dont want to lose on purpose, but we can't be winning so much that we lose our shot at getting a draft pick

  13. they could win every game from here on out, then maybeeee?😅 they show flashes of brilliance ( that were formerly immediately extinguished)….the starting surge is now back up by that thing, whatcha call it?…. oh right, DEFENCE…playoff push unlikely but dont step on the dream man!😅😅😅

  14. The raptors can only build through trading and the draft. If they don’t sell at the trade deadline and they end up with a low lottery pick, then this season was absolutely useless in my opinion.

  15. Raptors have been mostly injured and haven't had the opportunity to gel.
Now as a team they are becoming comfortable and this is why they are beating teams, even contenders.

They are 6-1/2 games out of the play in.
I believe the team being asked to tank would only disrupt the process these young players are going through, and for what a player they most likely won't get anyway?

No, let them play to the best of their abilities to gain confidence and who knows, maybe they can make a small run if they make the playoffs.

  16. They have the 3rd best odds in the lottery as of now after winning 4 out of their last 5. They stink and the coach stinks. They play a bunch of games against other terrible teams shortly that may be worse then them though, which is saying something. To even suggest that they can make a playoff push is idiotic.

  17. This is garbage at best, stop misleading fans about playoff it's a pipe dream with scottie bum as a frenchise

  18. Raptors are just got play Brown, Olnik, Boucha and Portal along with any other players they don't mind trading. Keep bringing up their value to get better assets for them. Once they are traded then actively lose games the rest of the season. Play rookies and second year players alot to develop them faster and also not win games but be playing players trying to get better. It will help raptors depth in long run and if we can get a top 3 pick in draft. We should be able to compete for a playoff spot next year. With draft capital to trade for a really good player in the future

  19. We better not make a playoff push … this is our best chance for a future second star! This draft is the most important opportunity we will get, in Scotties timeline, to get him a running mate.

We absolutely will never get a top free agent in their prime. Never ever. The agencies will funnel in-their- prime talent to the largest markets.

This is exactly why LA never bottoms out for long etc.

Agents run things. Toronto is used for development and leverage imo.

Trade RJ if necessary.. This is it.

  20. This little streak of wins helps raise the value of our players as we approach the Feb 6 trade deadline. It has nothing to do with playoff push. Thats just ridiculous. We are going to pull the plug and tear it down for the season after the trade deadline. Top 5 draft pick should be the goal this season next to player development.

  21. The last thing we need is the 10-11th pick and a 7th SG! 🤬🤬 We need to finish in the bottom 5 we need to be below Nets and in particular Bulls. Raptors back up plan to combo Forward or PG in top 5 should be Khaman Maluach if we move down to 6-8 pick in draft. I Believe his floor is serviceable starter in 3-4 years if healthy. His ceiling is 6-12th best two way C in NBA if 5-7 years. I understand we have Chomche in system but feel he will be good and could give some PF mins in a Jumbo unit.
I also see some very good SGs and Shooters in draft. However, I don’t see a player over RJ or Gradey by a significant amount? We need more diversity of talent not redundancy and I know we have Jak but he is not the type of C Khaman likely will become specifically switchable with some wings maybe slower PGs, maybe can shoot 3 3s a night and if that is 33% great.

  22. One season is not worth missing out on a top 3 pick this season. They can compete next season. Don’t be foolish this will set them up for many years to come.

  23. its too late to be the team we want them to be. its pointless to win at this time, theyre capable but pointless…they need to compete but tank, otherwise it will be the same next year….we need top 3 pick.
