I think these so called 'insiders' are tripping over themselves in an effort to be seen as the replacement for Shams.
Barrett is a good player on a bad team. He's nothing special. He'll never be an all-star. Trade him.

"The mere (suggestion) of (Potential) Raptors Interest" is like saying I have a fantasy or I am daydreaming about what it would feel like win a Million dollars playing lottery. Klutch Sports is basically trying to promote their player and make him relevant in the trade market and using Marc Stein as their verbal prostitutes'. He knows Raptors front office would take him to court if he lied about them so he has to say it in a way that is "mere suggestion of potential" 😂Marc Stein is a Klutch Sports Group mouth piece, This has absolutly nothing to do with the Raptors not one bit. It's just to hype Ingram.

On the surface this trade doesn’t make sense but depends on if another team is involved and draft capital is included…..
Who knows maybe the Raps want to get out of RJ’s contract and get another expiring contract and trade all their expiring contracts for young talent and picks.

Raptors should have made this move when we got off Siakam. Now we’ve had this Bruce brown saga go on and on. We could have been a playoff team potential to move BI later if required, like we are with brown at the moment.
It's easy to see how this could be misreported – and Stein is far from an insider – he's the epitome of throw stuff up in the air around this time of year. Raptors have been talking to Pels for Months – Actively – More so than any other team in the leaugue. Could I see the Pels offering him to us – sure. But the Raps are lurking on Zion. Not Ingram (whom won't resign here – even though he sort of fits on paper timeline wise – his game has a lot of Scottie Duplication) or CJ Mccollum. Raps are hoping to pry Zion loose – and it's not really looking like that's going to happen just yet. Pels want a huge price. Raps remain looking for a Prototypical 2 Way PF big to pair with RJ and Scottie.even if it makes Grady a 6th man. Raps targets to improve on the court are Zion/Rui/Obi Raps are also willing to bring back JV on Deadline day if he's still there with Salary match and a 2nd – as a credible backup to Jak and body to bang with the Cavs and Celts next year. If the Raps can't get ready to rock PF size at the deadline watch them find it in the draft.. If they get #1 they take Flagg. If not – watch them go for 6-10 and larger Potential PF types. Asa Newell; Ace Bailey would be the ones to watch.
Personally I wouldn't want Ingram in Toronto on or off the court. I like herb jones and jose Alvarado lol but still wouldn't do this trade

Scottie needs a true second option, rjs not it, no defence, lacks consistency, and is a poor decision maker. Raptors should be looking to trade for someone like an Andrew wiggins as a second option. Since yall love rj so much for being Canadian, why not replace him with a better Canadian player.

Kind of like the Raptors current starting Power Forward – Scottie Barnes. This Rumor must have been created by a Pelicans media person. Maybe they can be a 3rd team with BI going somewhere else that includes Raptors taking on some of the incoming salary to enable the Pelicans get under the tax line. This is their preferred option, because they are not resigning him. The only other option is trading one of their Rockies for nothing

the pelicans likely realize they are too good to be a bottom 4 pick when healthy which they will be. they also realize no one is gonna trade for ingram and give them assets like picks and young players.
there was even a report 8 weeks ago with lack of interest in ingram, the pelicans had to face the reality of losing him for nothing in off season, paying him and going into luxury tax or making a lateral move where they traded for things they needed and not necessarily get pick compensation.
so its possible, pelicans making a lateral move. trading for need, and a young replacement.
might be raptors trade RJ Barett and Jakob Poeltl and give pacers the 4th pick in 2026, for ingram and filler and the pelicans unprotected pick in 2025, and the bucks pick in 2025 or a future first for jakob.
that would make sense. why? because the reality is the raptors are in rebuild, and not this fantasy being peddled the raptors are trying to grab a top 4 pick and then make playoffs next year.
rogers wont pay the luxury tax, so they cant really afford jakob poeltl. and rj barrett likely looking for a max contract after 2026 season is probably gonna be hard to trade considering he cant take a guy off the dribble to create his own shot and he is horrible on defence.
so they get a high 2025 pick and a first for jakob poeltl while giving the pacers top 4 pick in 2026 which will likely be 12-24 range, while they get ingram who can create his own shot. so they buy low on ingram and rebuild his value to trade in a season or two when his contract wont look at bad after the tax thresholds go up 20 million or so.

Masai is the one who spread the rumors that RJ Barrett is a minor player in the Knicks trade! He and Darko started that rumor. It was also Masai and Darko who created the whispering campaign that RJ's contract was "Toxic." It was only RJ's play that defeated their intention. Now they are doing what they intended from the beginning. Masai is going t ruin the Raptors for years to come! Also, was IQ the value of that trade?
Guaranteed Ingram would be a player that would not show up if traded. RJ is playing his heart out and it is working.
