How Steven Adams Turns Slashers into Superstars

First Ja Morant and Zion Williamson, now Jalen Green and Amen Thompson are reaping the benefits of Steven Adams’s presence.

  1. His Gortat screen is one of the best and one that I dont see too often in the NBA today probably because the bigs are more mobile looking to score themselves.
I kinda feel like the teams adapt to him, its literally the same spacing and positioning he has with every team he has played on and how he's able to create lanes for his guards to make up for the fact he's not a floor spacer. With how efficient he's at getting offensive boards and attention he gets from creating space off screens in some ways that's his way of spacing the floor, he might me be one of the few players in NBA that can geniunely make a difference with rebounds, screens alone because most times he has two and even three in the paint tryna box him out

  2. Adams's comment on Amen Thompson's speed and quick jumping ability is high praise indeed. Remember he played with Ja Morant and Russell Westbrook.

  3. Good video cheers… I'm a fan of Adams (even if he is a Kiwi .. 😜) and you've made some good observations here …

But it also highlights just how deplorable NBA defence often is these days … Some of those defenders getting tied up with Adams were just laughably bad, and are the types of efforts that would see many U16 players in a good rep team benched…

  4. Steven brings confidence and ease to other players. Like Melo said…Steven makes everyone else’s job easier, LeBron admitted if you go against Adams you’re going to lose 100/100. Very strategic , smart and selfless on every team he’s been on.

  5. Yup amen and Jalen played well along side Adams because adams don't need the ball to score he was there to screen & rebound.. JG and amen freely move and make their own shot not waiting for a bigman to pass them the ball under 7 seconds remaining in the shot clock

  6. I think hes better than sengun in game. , we all know that sengun score more than adams but adams presence in the floor and hea defense makes sense that why i thought adams is better than sengun

  7. Imagine not caring if someone passes you the ball and all you are there for is to help someone else be better.
How many triple doubles did Westbrook have because Adams was relentless on screenouts or put bodies under pressure on O boards.
How good did Ja and Bane look with the same screen action, easy slashing and space on the perimeter to shoot.

Everyone is looking for a big to shoot, yet when Adams is healthy, his ability to let his shooters shoot more and more effectively had the teams he's been on be top 3 of their conferences. CONSISTENTLY. His ability to shoot from the outside really is irrelevant because if you leave him, he will reset his guard in a better shooting position.

If you were playing money ball, Steve would be right up there. His O Board relentlessness is also completely underrated.
