@benrogers go look at raptors cap table after they pay new rookies, pay jakob poeltl his 14-16 million raise and scottie barnes 29 million raise. if they trade for ingram, its not gonna be brown. its likely RJ barett and Jakob poeltl. cuz rogers wont pay luxury tax.
ingram max would put raptors into 2nd apron so you know its not gonna be brown, boucher or davion mitchell. and you know rogers wont pay luxury tax unless raptors been to conference finals. in fact if they trade for ingram, they would have to take zero money back for brown, boucher and mitchell while moving out players under contract long term or due for a raise. to stay under 1st apron.
I feel like this is a red herring to get teams to believe we are making a playoff push so we have some extra or any leverage when trading our other players like brown , Chris , Kelly . Maybe I’m wrong though
Pascal was a choker
just so you know rogers stands to gain 17 million in revenue share for raptors for staying under the 1st apron. rogers wont be wiling to lose 17 million and pay luxury tax for a team that is no where near conference finals.
@benrogers you ignoring this could just be a misdirection to try to leverage more value for players they trying to move, by putting it out there they may trade for ingram. its likely they getting lowballed for players right now.
8:27 – it could be a huge smokescreen.
Also, I don't think we threw away the first half, I think we were trudging along with the injuries.
This only makes sense if they can be reasonably sure he will not leave in the summer for nothing. He says he wants to get paid, and his current team has no interest in paying him. That is generally a warning sign.
I hope they do not overpay him just to get him signed.
Enthusiasm is inspiring ….we all support your work Ben ….. thx
They can get him still tank this year… let him get healthy… add a scorer like him will help us reach a new level!!!
BI for IQ would be best. Would love to keep DM. BB and CB, I’d miss them but 🤷🏿♂️.
If Masai is really bringing in Ingram you better believe he’s buying low. While some people think it’s going to cost Quickley or RJ it might not. Look at what Pascal went for in the final year of his contract while being a 2 time allstar at the time. Keep in mind Pascal was actually playing at a high level and not injured. The Pacers simply bought low on him for a couple picks, Brown’s expiring contract, and Nwora’s expiring contract. Also trading for Ingram doesn’t necessarily mean we’re going for it now. Ingram is currently injured so this might not even be a move for this season because the Raptors would get his bird rights which would allow them to re-sign him for more money that would not affect the salary cap if they go over it. Bird rights allow you to sign players for money that doesn’t really count against the cap if you go over it.
This might be a smarter move than some think if they’re able to buy low on him and just have him on load management for the rest of the season so he doesn’t actually affect where they draft. If they’re going after Ingram they likely plan to be good by next season by bringing in Ingram and whoever they draft in the upcoming draft. If that’s a high draft pick they’re in business! Some people forget you can’t just lose, lose, lose every season without the players you currently have feeling like you’re not doing enough to put them in a winning situation. This is when players start asking to be traded which someone like Scottie could do in a couple years if he feels like the Raptors are not putting players around him to win. Masai knows no borderline allstar players are signing here in free agency so he might see a opportunity to buy low on one which is simply what he did to get Kawhi. You kind of have to do business differently when building a team in Canada. There could actually be legit smoke to this rumor if it’s a buy low opportunity which we know Masai is known for doing.
BI is a nice player, but are the Raps really going to re-sign him for upwards of $40M a year for the next 4 years? They already have Scottie, IQ & Barrett signed for at least 2 more yrs after this season. I just can't see the reasoning for bringing BI to Toronto
Ingram>pascal
Raps have been on the Ingram radar since pre-season, he's a young vet. IF a deal gets done it will be with the intention of an extension in place.
A Trade would look something like this:
Dick
Brown
Boucher
for
Ingram
2-2nd round pick.
And it would happen early enough so that New Orleans could flip Brown and Boucher.
basically Ingram instead of Siakam.
Flagg is staying stateside. No way in hell they would let him come to Canada.
Am still in doubts…I'll reserve all commentary until it actually happens… sports reporters are always in getting their Knott in a bunch around draft night and trade deadline..hyperbolic.
Siakum was overrated beyblade. He was terrible
When Darko says we are in a rebuild – you confuse it with "Tanking". Let me explain, tanking means lose at all cost – Raptors are not losing at all cost to "capture the Flagg". They recognize this year is about growth over dubbya's, and if that gets them a high pick so be it – but you have it sounding like the Raps are trying to lose at all cost, with an aim at a high pick, and no matter how loud you yell in frustration, they aint! And don't turn your nose down at a 10 pick like it is failure, you sound ingrateful – Grady went 9th in a "ho-hum" draft year, just think about in a deep draft what 10 could fetch ya! Kobe went 9th, Kawhi 15th, Klay Thompson 11th, Giannis 15th. Imagine any of these guys beside our guys. Truth is Raps will grab 6 or 7 pick statistically. Maybe move up to 4th, there are worst team then the Raps who are not trying to win a battle of being the worst team at all cost, at any cost with thier eye on a high pick – they are building a culture of winning first and foremost – this, they have said a zillion times. You know who has their eye on a high pick only???? Fans and media! Not the Raps organization or the players or the coaches. Do you think Darko is saying "I don't care if I improve my coaching and won't try in games because I want to capture Flagg to make this season worth it!" – seriously bro, give your head a shake! hahahaha.
I mean if we can get Ingram without trading any of our core guys, I think that’s a dub. His value is at an all time low, I’m interested to see what this team could do if we get Ingram
Hell yes! Low cost, then yes! Hate all you want commenters, but if they gey Ingram, and somejow Nurkic, mark my words, they will be a competitive team with a lot of promise. The hate you give me, only fuels me lol. Come back to this comment when im proven right, or wrong. Hopefully this is a very fruitful trade deadline, not a dud. Guess we will see in 6 days, either way. Go Raps!
Looms like we back on vision 6'9
I swear if we Trade RJ for him I’ll be completely done with Masai! Cuz he keeps doing the same win now moves just cuz the team goes on a winning streak.. same exact thing he did last time that got us into all this mess! And they keep moving players Scottie gets close with.. him and RJ are literally now starting the gel
What in the world Ingram to my raptors wtf😂❤
I didn't like Pascal and Barnes together. Pascal seemed like he had his own agenda. Right now, RJ and Barnes is the better fit. The vibe I get is team first.
Ppl who want to lose are losers. I've never liked tanking. Losing breeds losing. Play to win and build a winning culture. Cooper flags makes no sense. Rookie can't help nor does it make him a superstar. Build with what you have or make trades to help the winning culture
I want Ingram. He cooks us every time
Bring him in low, re-sign him and let him sit and get his ankle rest. We still will get our high pick and have another stud on the team. Win-Win
3 way with LA.
Raptors receive Ingram
Lakers receive Brown
Pelicans receive Boucher, Vincent, Hachimura
He is just 27
Brendan Ingram is a valuable piece to the Raptors. This man is like 28 points per game. He was like the best player on the pelican if we could bring in a guy like that 69 amen he’s only 27. The Raptors got something good here I was hoping they would get like a Zion Williams, but will settle for that

windhorst just dropped a bomb, saying hawks trading for ingram with jalen johnson out for the year. makes sense as they have a trading relationship already.
Smart love , player with his calibre we get crazy returns in the future #trusttheprocess
Would love to have him as long as Boucher and RJ are not part of the equation. However, I wonder if he would even report to camp. We've had a few bastards that wouldn't report or play when traded to the Raptors.
I love BI but isn't he injury prone?
Not happening … it’s merely smoke for the actual team looking at Ingram to get the bids up. EVERY DAMN YEAR 😂
Ooohhhhh! Raps front runner for a trade?! They Interested? Like really reeeeeeellllly interested?!
Wow! What coolness! Such awesome! Super hype!
Lol how many more trade rumours with raps as front runners ONLY TO RAISE THE TRADE VALUE OF A PLAYER THEY WILL NOT GET?
Cmon now. How.many times we seen this smoke and mirrors pony show? Every fkn year…
Rj needs to be traded to make this work
100 percent coming from Pelicans trying to drum up a trade market for the guy
Siakam is better than Ingram.
I wouldn't mind losing Quickley if they could add Ingram. Raptors defense with IQ out there jist doesn't cut it. I'd rather see Davion out there playing great defense and distributing to the other talented scorers on the court.
Trade the guy who's been out of the lineup during this wiining streak – IQ.
I dont think Siakam is a better fit than Ingram at ALLLL. Now ive been a raptors fan since I can Remember but Ingrams game is but better suited for someone like Scottie. Them MAIN thing Ingram brings to the table is the ability to create his own shots and be a threat at all 3 levels. This opens things up for Scottie in both scoring and playmaking.
Why don't we trade Vince Carter and Chris Bosh for the 1st pick? Duhh looks like I should be general managerer
We're just being used as a leverage team (like always) in BI's trade value…
Pascal got traded for ochai BI and a first. That's not bad
I would be fine with it if the Raptors don’t include any first round picks and he sits for the rest of the season.
I don’t see the Pelicans just taking expiring contracts for Ingram. They can just let him walk. It’s closer to Scottie’s timeline (4 years older) than any of the 2025 top draft prospects who will be 5 years younger. He seems always injured though.
