I wouldn't be surprised if Pop guides the deal and calls the final shot across the Teams (I also think this will be a multi-team deal).
Spurs can't fumble nothing that has already been predetermined. Fox want to be in San Antonio we don't have to guess or play the "if" game. Spurs not winning the Championship this year why trade a great upside player. Sac are being greedy for even asking for Cas. Fox a free agent alot sooner than later and the time-line it still match up….3-4 year's right.
If we whiff on this trade, Brian Wright may need to be on the hot seat this year or after this season period.
Don’t get me wrong I’m not saying give up the whole house and be stupid but at the same time I would hope there’s a lot of good negotiation happening. We technically have the leverage in this situation in my opinion.
I can definitely see them passing lol what happen locked on that was against doing win now deals so early. Spurs give their word to players. I can’t see them suddenly trading castle.
You cant say you need fox but be unwilling to trade castle. If castle is that essential then you dont need fox.
First i love the Spurs Org as they have been a staple of how an organization SHOULD be run. What many people don't realize is that Fox wanted to stay in Sacramento, and he never asked for the trade. Kings front office (GMs) has done some things behind the scene that should not have been done. Fox still has a chance to stay with Sacramento as he can get paid the most with Sacramento. The Owner is reportedly going out to meet with Fox to ask him to stay in Sacramento, they may even fire the GM. The one thing we have always done is over value our players. Fox is a legit star, is better than Castle, and Castle may never get to were Fox is at. You have to give up talent to get talent as the Kings did when they gave up Haliburton for Sabonis. No one wanted to give up Haliburton, but that change instantly changed the Kings Franchise. I know Spurs Value Castle, but seeing Fox play for the past 8 years, there are few that are a better team person, locker room guy, and he WANTS to go to a Small Market, how do you know if Castle even wants to stay in San Antonio when he gets to his chance to be a free agent.
Complete agree with CheetahGoing….Spurs don't have to give up Castle……They can give up any of the others ….Spurs can wait….Spurs know this, Sacramento knows this , Spurs keep Castle.
Castle is untouchable, plain and simple. Vassell can score every once in awhile, can't handle, can't create and can't play any defense, and most importantly, he can't stay healthy!
They are cooperating with other teams to make a three maybe even four team trade.
They could get him in free agency. Not castle.
