With defence being the issue, I think it'd be very prudent to request to trade Jokic for Gobert!
I do not understand the criticism of Malone. Which of the amazing players that Booth has saddled him with should Malone have played? Zeke? Tyson? Saric?
Seems to me that the GM who decided to ship off the best defender last year in order to make space for backup center so terrible he doesn’t even play in a thirty point blowout should be at fault. But sure let’s blame Malone for playing the 8 actual NBA players.

Weird title, they cooked us 1st half without any ANT impact? They just played amazing offensive game every single one of their players. Theres really not much one can dissect from this game, the other team just played amazing and we played mediocre.

Let’s call it what it is, Matt we got outcoached today. Plain and simple. That doesn’t mean Malone should be fired ,far from it.
He’s a good coach, but today he got a tactical lesson. He seemed to forget a key principle of coaching, if something isn’t working, you have to change it. He needs to show more flexibility in his approach, especially when things start going off track early in the game.
This loss is a good thing if we can learn from the lessons the game presented.
MPJ becomes quiet in the biggest moments….that's a problem !
Gobert's screens are "great" when he's allowed to hold CB during those screens. So annoying that these refs call an offensive foul on Straw on a pick when Rudy literally grabs defenders during his screens. I'm not blaming the refs for this loss, we got whooped. But Rudy should've been called for a foul at least twice from what I saw, not a great screener; I wish refs were better. Why can't refs be better lol it is 2025, good lord.. I know it's a hard job, but we have f-ing technology and replay way ahead from these no-name refs calling big games while making money. FYI: Refs make money too! Give them credit when it's due, and give them criticism when it's needed. Not harping at you Matt, just venting my frustration lol

If you see Gobert screen for Ant you dont navigate anything. You switch but when the guy who got screened recovers they just go onto Ant for the double. Every team has been doing this to the Wolves and they have no answer. Ants turnover rate on doubles is terrible, McDaniels has been poor from the corner.
Ignore Gobert or have whoever is guarding the corner low man for Gobert on the roll. He has no hands.
Anthony Edwards is not Denver's problem, but in this case it is the complete disorganization in Denver's offense and defense. MPJ is completely useless on the field when Denver play with teams that have size, like Minnesota, Cavs, Houston, Boston, NY, OKC, Dallas full healthy, Orlando full healthy..and a few more teams who are around under .500.After the first quarter, Denver did not play a single attack with Jokic on the post. Gordon try a three-point shot with 18 19 seconds on the clock in four or five possession without any other Denver player inside the three-point line. His behavior as well as his body language in the last couple of games shows that something is wrong with AG. Watch the match with NY soon, it will be exactly the same. MPJ didn't have a single rebound, Jokic took over MPJ player in defense several times, while he stood and watched three Minnesota players grab offensive rebounds and he was one step away from the rim. If Denver doesn't find one or two more players, strong and mobile wings that can cover two or three positions (I wrote about Reath from Portland who doesn't play there and has a contract of 2.5 million – as an example of what Denver lacks in terms of players) will not pass the second round of the playoffs.
Without defense everybody is a problem. 😂😂

The amount of 30+ point losses this team suffered inn last 2 years is embarrassing. I don't know who to blame, but Jokic deserves blame as well. When sh1t goes the entire team quits. I mean I have seen Denver have 20+ lead against some sh1t teams and those sh1t teams would bring it under 10. When Denver goes into a hole, hole usually is getting bigger. Attitude, grit, fight is a big concern. What Knicks and T-Wolves are doing to Nuggz is an effing abuse haha.
Might be the first time but I actually agree with Matt, including the fact that it hurts more cause it's the timberwolves.
1. I think the hunger may be the biggest difference in the goat comparisons that have been going on in this show and the locked on NBA. Michael Jordan never had a moment where he wasn't hungry. He wanted to crush the opponent every time.
2. About Malone… I'm not basketball savvy enough to judge his coaching but I do feel he is not flexible with his rotations and is slow to make adjustments especially within the game. He also has a clear issue with PWatt for some reason…
3. AG does not look good. Its better to rest him now rather than risk a bigger injury. They need to force him to take more time, It isn't doing anyone any good this way.
I agree with the matinee thing. Also it's freaking Antman. He's an unstoppable scorer. Great players like Ant are going to have big games. It happens.
Minus the sloppy turnovers it seemed like most of the guys cared into the 3rd on offense. Defense we didn't want to rebound, and we didn't communicate swaps so guys were left wide open. Ant kept blowing by AG in the 1st Quarter, and one of the times someone else came to help and Ant had no shot but took it anyways. It made the other times look worse knowing someone missed the help AG expected since he isnt 100%.
What is up with MPJ? Dude looked like he would have rather been anywhere but on that court. He had sloppy passes all night, didnt try on defense even when he was given an easy chance to block from behind he just watched or refused to actually close out most of the time on 3s.
Watson had some awkward landings in the first half, figured they were being cautious. Also AG grabbed his hamstring and didnt look right after in the 1st, he was doing weird things with his legs on his next few shots into the 3rd. I want him to get healthy and get a ring in memory of his brother.

Off of Matt's note, in almost every sport if a team from the Mountain Timezone or West Coast plays in central or eastern time the team hosting in the east has an advantage. I couldnt believe the Broncos won multiple 11am games this year, Avs got smoked in Boston yesterday even earlier, baseball travels so much it isn't much of a thing, but in the other sports it does matter.

Nuggets have problems with strong physical teams or whoever decides to play that way against them. Why ? MPJ can't dribble under the pressure , Jamal being physically inferior to the ones defending him, Joker becoming passive instead of forcing it and trying to get Gobert into a faul trouble because he has that ability ..

Denver's roster is just not going to win against the better teams in the NBA. They are not contenders. I'm not confident they get to the second round of the playoffs this year and it would be a miracle if they make it to the third. Winning a championship is nigh on impossible. It's sad to see Jokic's prime being wasted on this team.
