I understand Fox and his agent wanting to jump the line of ‘great long term piece alongside Wemby’. It’s bold and I love how it says the quiet ambition out loud.
But now all that Fox has done is slightly accelerated the Spurs’ game plan of ‘who WILL/SHOULD we eventually get to go alongside Wemby, both talent wise and long term salary cap fit ?’
Fox has made it clear what he does and doesn’t want. I can see Sacramento shipping him out but not necessarily the Spurs bringing him in.

Just here to say as someone who watches every Sacramento game… fox is an excellent defender. So sick of that knock. Dude can stay in front of just about anyone, and led the league in steals last year. Excellent anticipation, and not a huge gambler which makes leading the league in steals even more impressive. Maybe if the Kings weren’t undersized at every position, or at any point in his career didn’t have a 2 playing the 3 while a 3 pretends to be a 4 with Domas or Richaun Holmes at center.
Fox isn’t a bad defender, the Kings have failed to support him.

Fox prefers to be traded to the Spurs in the moment but.. Kings need Sochan, Castle, Collins and 3 first RD picks for Fox and Huerter. If the Spurs "wait" till free agency 27-28 season you wont have Cap opportunity's to sign Fox because you have to pay your young core. And Fox will sign with a win now contender like Boston, Houston or OKC in free agency. Plus I'm sure Fox would feel disrespected that the Spurs did not make it happen like he is not worth it to the Spurs to get him by any means necessary. Spurs need to hand the Kings a blank check and give them any trade package they want that doesn't involve Wemby or don't waste the kings time.
