Whoever asked this question is dumb and disrespectful to the players.
Alperen Şengün does not play basketball to make statistics, he always fights for his team, every match he is defended by at least two or 3 players, so his other teammates score more easily. His team is second in the league and Sabonis's team is tenth.
Stats not everything. Which coach thinking sabonis do dangerous we need to send double or triple man for defence? Answer nooo one. This shows who effect game more.
After rocket get the enough points to win the match they remove sengun for resting him for next matches. Therefore they stats are not higher then it actually should be. if rocket was bottom of league he would’ve 40 points 18 rbs and 10 asist every match
Get off the weed and the couch and watch the games instead of staring at the stat sheet. Alpi is an all star!
No, Alperen is way better than Sobunis..
No matter what you say, Sengun is a 22-year-old veteran, He plays incredibly hard this year. There is no team in the NBA that is not worried about Sengun's game impact, Sabonis is a one way guy no defense at all.
Sabonis plays center. What is he supposted to do first? DEFENCE! Does he has any idea about DEFENCE? He's playing in shit team. His statistics are all fake. Not real. So skip this stupid conversation. Offcourse Şengün is better than him. Way better. Opponent teams always give him double team. Because his teammates aren't good shooters. Ok then. Don't bring double on him. And give Şengün, Steph Curry. What gonna happen. Sabonis even can't move. He is too slow. It's disrespectful. If you know liitle things about basketball, you can't compare this two players. If i have 100 chances to pick, i would always go with Şengün. Way more faster, way more athletic, way more better defender, way more better play maker.

Sengun just has a way better team built around him and one of the best coaches. Sabonis is the better player and should be in the all star but they love snubbing him as always.

Picking reserves from the winning teams will make a positive impact on players towards winning games rather than going for the stats. You can not simply not pick a player from the 2nd best team in the west so Sengun was a no-brainer.
Sabo's stats are impressive but that's just what they are, they're stats. Alpi's impact, his scouting report, double-triple teams he gets constantly and the record of the team he's leading are all above and beyond of Sabonis. His appearance is well-deserved.

Watch as Sabonis gets snubbed for the All-Star team yet gets voted for 3rd Team All-NBA like last year. Not one of the best 12 players in the Western Conference, yet one of the best 15 players in the whole league? Ok. He is a flawed player in many ways, no doubt, but his stats are even better this year than last year. (Except for assists.)
Sabonis has Fox, De Rozan and the six man of the year and still almost lost half o his games. Sabonis cant win them games. A lot of stat padding in here. Alpi has a bunch of Kids to support him- he is a kid too. And he does everything to win games and he is successfull.
So disrespectful of you guys with that blind comparison. Show the percent of double teams for two players.
All-Star is BORING anyway, the only event worth watching is the 3-Pt Shooting contest.

Alperen better than Sabonis
Weird, the hosts seemed to sidestep the main point of how these two players truly affected their teams success. While numbers and stats are significant, there are also many other strategic factors on team, game …. that can greatly influence those numbers, for better or for worse. This is just something to consider if you consider yourself an analyst
