Guess I’m no longer a Mavs fan nor a Luka fan, I can’t stand the Lakers so Luka is my not someone who I’ll be looking for as far as highlights and Stats. Guess I’ll cancel my Sling And Mavericks/NBA app.
To just trade him away without even creating a market or bargaining is insane. Luka def. could have netted the Mavs way more than 1 draft pick.

My conjecture: Something happened with Luka’s recovery that pissed off the Adelsons and made them decide that they don’t want to pay him on a personal level. Because all this about Luka not going 100% with off court prep is all very well known and predates their purchase. It feels rash. The idea that a GM would take this level of career risk to make a move that no one in the industry understands doesn’t add up. They didn’t even get the Lakers best offer…they wanted to keep this on the low low because the fan base would revolt, so Nico had to work with Pelinka someone he could trust. They basically gave the Lakers a huge discount for taking a top 3 NBA asset off their hands quietly. This is just not a rational basketball decision, so what is the new variable here?? If there is one ownership group that would cut off their nose to spite the face…These people have not acquired a taste for eating dodo if you look at their background
