Nico doesn't understand how beloved Luka is in Dallas. If you're gonna do this you make it known to ghe other 29 teams that Luka is available. They could have gotten any player they wanted for him and Davis is their choice? Great player but that ain't what you trade a franchise changing player for. I'm disgusted and offended that Nico doesn't care about us.
My inside source tells me that Luka told teammates (so basically, the organization( that if he doesn't get the supermax contract, he's leaving Dallas in 2026. So Dallas was not about to lose him for nothing after Nash/Brunson. Also talked about nba ratings and Luka in lala land would bolster ratings. And as far as conditioning–who better to mentor and improve his diet and conditioning than James?

I've been listening to all the pundits and all the podcasters talking as if they see this is the worst day for Dallas. This is absolutely a wonderful day for the Dallas Mavericks the Dallas Mavericks are going all in on this season and next season. Anthony Davis is one of the best players on both offense and he was the best player on the team when they when the Lakers won the championship by far. Luka dodgers has been injured for most of the season and is completely out of shape. Max Christy for the first time in his career after 3 years has gotten starting minutes and has shown that he plays very well both offensively and defensively. He is still a young player and growing. Luka maybe the answer for La for their long-term future however who's going to be the person who handles the ball in Los Angeles. The year they brought in Russell Westbrook the player who had led the league in assists they made him have to play LeBron James system with the ball out of his hands. Because LeBron does not know how to play in anybody else's system. Nor is he willing to. So unless they're going to train LeBron James off of the team as well they just weakened the Lakers squad for the next 2 years. And once LeBron leaves that team basically has only Luca and no pics to go around to get anybody better.

The Mavericks made a decision. I can't argue with it. Luka is TERRIBLE at maintaining his body and conditioning. WORSE than terrible actually. Luka needs to grow up. Dallas moved on and I don't blame them.
