I think the league is moving towards a world where teams don't want max contract players. Look around the league. Max contract players are struggling to make the playoffs. Player salaries and the new cap is creating tons of movement. Fox just got moved.
Why do people think the pacers are going to sell this trade deadline? Best record in January, 4th in defense and 4th in net rating. Made it to ECF last year, why would they want to go backwards. All the reports I’ve seen are not good sources “rival executives believe” lol. Myles has been in rumors for years and has stayed loyal. Mavs fans, including myself, are devastated. This feels like a nightmare we could wake up any minute from. This was the guy we were going to watch bring home championships and mvps for the next 12 years. With the way this was handled, and with kyrie skipping today's game, Im betting he asks out in the near future, and nothing gives me confidence AD would want to stay long term. We just lost Dirk 2.0 for literally no future. Even if we miraculously won a chip this year we are cooked for the next decade, min. It's like nico forgot kyrie disappeared in the finals and that luka single handedly dragged us to contention. Heartbroken. Luka is not 25 years old . He plays professional basketball since like 13. His Basketball AGE is close to 30 and his body has wear of 32-33 player. They see him everyday they know EXACTLY what they traded , unlike anyone else.
Lakers fans seeing them sign Luka Doncic and saying “this is a horrible trade and our championship window is closed” have to be the most deluded people on the planet. LeBron, Luka, DFS, Rui, Vando, Austin Reaves, Gabe Vincent, Hayes, Cam Reddish, and Dalton Knecht is a scary 9-man rotation on both sides. That’s only two guys under 6’6. They do need another Center quickly, but defensively, I have zero concerns because of what they have shown us with AD injured alone.
Max’s minutes get replaced by Vando’s, and Vando is the better defender. DFS likely slides into the starting lineup to replace Max as well. This team is going to be a nightmare for the rest of the league.

1.) I feel like there was something going on behind the scenes that we don't know about……yet.
2.) I wish people would stop talking about Luka's age. He has to be the oldest 25 year old in terms of mileage on his body of any player ever. He was playing professional basketball with grown men since he was 16.

Everyone brings up how bad he is defensively, but how many other players carry a larger offensive load? And when you are a team that has two scorers and only two scorers, exactly what else are you going to do? Conditioning? Sure. Injuries? Sure. But blasting Luka for his defense is just a low-end bad take that people love to use.
I'm a grown ass man and I've been crying because of this. My favorite player goes to play with my most hated player. I can't fathom a worse outcome for me as a fan of Luka
This trade was 100% about money and power. The L.A. market combined with League Agenda have it in spades, so they pillage the Mavs who get nothing for the mid or long term.. All other narratives are nonsense. I was 88% done with the NBA last week. I'm 99% done now.
Don't confuse yourselves! The Mavs front office received insane back-end money to make this trade happen and to stay on league-defined talking points while explaining it.
