You can't pay a player 350 million guaranteed and not be certain he will be available to play. Luka's injuries over last year was just to concerning. Should have gotten more in the trade though.

100. I feel betrayed by the trade. I lived through Dirk's ride to a title and it was a blast. If we traded Dirk for Tim Duncan before the Mavs won a title, it wouldn't have been any fun. I was looking forward to doing it again with Luka. He WAS the Mavs.
I need to develop a new hobby other than following the Mavs. I'm too hurt. Luka was Dirk 2.0, maybe better. Nico just demolished the team and set the team back a decade or two. I don't know if it's worth following them anymore. I may cheer for the Lakers or the Pelicans. Am open if there other suggestions.

I have a problem with you saying you do not care about the Mavs the rest of this season. Everyone on the planet was shocked over this trade but Nico has always made decisions with much thought and was favorably spoken of the last two years. Our time with Luka is so memorable and we're deeply grateful for his skill and contribution. But, I don't believe there are MILLIONS who have turned their back on the Mavs. Come on… GET OVER yourself. If we start a winning binge our fickle commentator will eat crow and change his tune… watch for it. My sad level is 25.
Luka is great, however, his work ethic is not super. he may not become MVP in his NBA career. The new MAVs team has better starting five
Nico Harrison is a great GM. Look at all the moves he made before this Donic move, they were all great moves that made the team better. and I do believe this is a good move too as time goes on. Donic is a great player but his conditioning and work ethic would never make his SUPER good like Bryant, James.
My interest level with the MAVS goes up. Now we have a much-balanced starting give that can go to distance: Irving, Thompson, Washington, David, and two Monster Centers Gafford or Lovely. and our second team is better too with the addition of Christie as a shooter.
You are falling for the bait. Nico is the fall guy. They want you to believe it was just him.
At the VERY LEAST, ownership is just as complicit and at fault. Luka is the most important part of their new investment in this franchise. There is no way they signed off on this decision without fully understanding the ramifications.
There is even the argument of a grander conspiracy between Klutch sports, the NBA commissioner, and Mavs ownership. But even if you are not willing to go that far (I am, btw!), there is no way this can be laid soley at the feet at Nico. There is no way he could have done this unilaterally.

I think Nico is good GM. But Doncic move definitely makes no sense.
1. Last season that Mavs is top 5 defense team.
2. Kidd defense strategy is Pocket Defense to let go the weak side and use SF,PF, even CENTER to cover up. He already set up the strategy to save both Luka and Kyrie their energy to focus on offense.
3. Trade Klay that we want 3rd scoring player, and Klay also can open space for Kyrie and Luka.
4. So all of trades and strategy, even the whole system was build up surrounding Luka, so even we get AD such a talented player, but whole system, strategies and tactics need to be changed, not a little adjustment, is huge change and challenge. Because Mavs didn’t play 45 combo before, and reference Cavs and Wolves it takes time, even more than one season.
5. How big the business value that Luka has? I think you definitely know, only for jerseys that he is rank 8, and sell the season tickets and internet volume also important right? Mavs IG decrease 700K followers, is that great move? I don’t think so.
6. Super-Max is just a fake issue, trade Luka without negotiations, did you really care about his contract or health condition? I’ll say no. What about Zion? At least Pelicans keep negotiating with him, but Nico didn’t.
7. Nico just a GM, maybe the decision was made by new boss. And even in Taiwan Mavs fans also heard about some news like wants to move to another city, or want some industries be legal there.
I agree that Nico is good GM, he still finished the tasks well. But I don’t think that is win-now trade, it is just have some excuses to make it more reliable and reasonable.

As a lifelong Mav's fan, I've witnessed just about everything…80's dominance and coming so close, to the terrible 90's. What Nico did was a disgrace to basketball and GM's around the league. Don't forget this guy was fired from Nike after 19 years for screwing up Steph Curry's deal and has never been a GM in his life until 2021. Sadness level = 100!!
Fu*k no! Worst trade in NBA HISTORY! I’ve bled blue, green, and white since day one through the good times and certainly the bad times being a very enthusiastic Mavericks fanatic. I’m a HUGE fan, as I’m sure a lot of you are as well. And regardless if your a fan of the Mavs or not, but love the game of basketball and the NBA, you know damn well Nico Harrison f*cked us so hard that I don’t even see any future whatsoever for the next decade. It just doesn’t make any f*cking sense. I feel so bad for all the Mavs fans, I’m right there with you. Nicely put, this trade was blasphemy and an extremely horrible decision. Bluntly put, this trade was basura and f*cking bullsh*t! Not only did we trade Luka, we got shit for the trade. Ya AD is a great player and will certainly be a good addition to the team if he stays healthy, but in no f*cking way was he worth the trade that went down. I agree I would rather have been a Luka Mavs fan for life and not win any championships, than to get rid of Luka. Us Luka fans would ride and die for that man. We would’ve gone to battle/war for him. Luka is Mavs, Luka is Dallas. He brought so much joy to the Mavs and the City of Dallas and we all thought he was the second coming following the one and only Dirk Nowitzki. Loyalty on both ends, player and organization, under Mark Cuban. He was everything to the Mavericks and all of Dallas. I do want to say, that even if you had a thought of trading, WHY WOULDN’T you put him on the TRADING BLOCK to see ALL options from EVERY TEAM in the LEAGUE. We could have gotten so many great deals, but nooooo we f*cking handed the Lakers a franchise generational player on a silver f*cking platter for got damn near nothing for what we could’ve got. Also, the new Mavs owner is looking into moving the Mavs to Vegas. So I’m extremely outraged right now and will not be supporting the Mavs currently based on this trade, even if we win a championship, but if they move the Mavs out of Dallas, sh*t, as I’m already on the fence now, I will legit sever my ties and trash them til my last breathe. Is it currently time for me to bleed purple and yellow? I think so. F*CK the MAVS ORGANIZATION and LET’S F*CKING GO LAKERS!

Not a Mavs fan I’m a Pistons fan and a Wizards fan because ik someone who plays there. I will say this you guys got better it sounds crazy but after the thursdays deadline if more moves aren’t made I’m gonna bet a bunch of money on the Mavs winning the chip.

Im so heart broke i never got to see luka play a game as a maverick, he was the best thing thats happened to the mavs since are championship. There is no way of explaining this and i dont know why they let this happen. I wish cuban was still in charge cause our future is not gonna look to good, we finally had a player that people wanted to come play with. No disrespect to the rest of the team i love yall and i will still watch yall and be a mffl. Im just so hurt cause i dont even know if the players we have will want to even stay with us and i dont know what the future holds for us in 2 or 3 years. For now i cant wait to see what we will do but im still 100 percent sad to see luka go.
