I mean say whatever you want and bring whoever you want to try to convince me, but this was a historic mistake.
It's a Machiavellian decision made at the franchise and fanbase's expense. He could have asked for so much more, but did favors for the enemy. Even if the Adelsons were truly ok with trading Luka, why are they ok with the return? Do they truly not understand the basketball landscape? If I heard my GM chuckling about how much soft ball he was playing and showing his hand so cheaply, I'd fire him, no matter the timing.

AD is underrated and honestly you all will be very happy with Max Christie… I am a Laker fan… Yes you all got screwed… That was an awful decision by management there… But AD is great and Max will be a super high level 2 way role player…

For those who don't know, AD shouldn't be viewed as the guy to carry offense. He should be viewed as the guy who'll defend everything.
With AD and what the Mavericks have, they should be an elite defensive team now.
I just worry about the offense because so much was reliant on Luka creating and running the offense through Luka. Kyrie alone won't be enough, and i don't trust AD will be consistent enough offensively. Mavs need a 3rd scorer that can playmake

After my initial rage… I’m trying to put a good spin on this in my head, it is still so hard to wrap around this though. Lucas’s been our world as a mavs fan. this team was built around him, and everyone in dallas waiting for him to come back… after the All-Star break. Just like last year it just sucks
we did a 180, we match up well vs denver i think, but we match up poorly against okc now
Just to be clear. Even with the mavs roster with AD. They do have a legitimate shot at a playoff run. For the next 2-3 years. After that their future is bleak. If they can win now, they might be able to justify the trade. The lakers are prepping for a lebron farewell and luka is the new face of the lakers.
Im a lakers fan and lakers won the trade. I have analysed the fit well on both ends and i could make a whole video on it but im not a youtuber.😂 But I'll say this about the trade regarding both teams.
1. The AD + kyrie pick and role could be nasty to stop. I'm not sure kyrie has ever played w a big man like AD. And AD has never played w a shot creator like Kyrie. Everytime AD sets that pick, 2 has to go w him. At that point you live and die with kyrie making easier shots than usual.
#2. AD has to get doubled in the paint. He also wants to get back to that outta the world power forward that can score anyway on the floor from the 3pt line and beyond, all the whilst utilizing his scoring and passing ability to wreck havoc. He dont only want to be assigned to the post (which hes very good at, no one can stop him in the post. AD stops AD if he settles and dont feel like banging but those games are few and far in between. By thr time u look up he already has 36pts by 3qtrs and u dont even know when he scored that many points..thats AD on a regular day) He gets your team in to bonus early. Lakers led the league in fts for the last 2 or 3 yrs easy and that's cuz of AD. AD avgs 30ppg 15rbs 3blks 4asst (10 hocky assist) in any given series all the whilst shutting down the opposing team offense.
#3. Dennis Rodman, Vanderbilt defensive wiz like that; their full impact don't show up on the stats sheet..AD is no different. AD had great defensive stats but he's no Bam adebayo, nor gobert. Hes waay better. He's switchable and guards anywhere on the floor.
He's like flash..he's literally everywhere. He knows how to strike the balance between going for a block and rebound, better than anyone in the league for the last couple yrs now.
#4. Pair AD with another center who's as big or bigger than him, that defense becomes stifling. The only big man that gives AD work is jokic. Every other is scared to attack him. Sengun, embiid, any of them.
Offensively basically throw the ball to AD everytime , and something good always happens. Like almost everytime. He's that great. My favorite laker since kobe. And you know great bigs don't usually avg more ppg than great guards. But talented bigs are more feared (hence intense double teams)
Maan yall tripping..Mavs are going to be very good offensively as well. Yall are going to be a contender. Ad destroys wemby. If AD is doubled he lobs it to lively. I could go on and on.
Christie:
Max Is highly underrated wing defender, in the sense that *(mark my words*), he will shut down any guard that's 6ft4 and under. Brunson, murray, steph. I can't think of one superstar guard 6ft4 and under that fried Max Christie. This allows Kyrie to focus on the less talented guard. He won't hv to guard steph anymore. Max is long. 6ft7. Yall will love Max.
I'd put:
Kyrie/Max/klay/AD/lively.
My friend, that's a nassssty lineup on offense.. I'm not sure about how klay does guarding sfs..but no sf is coming in that paint with AD and Lively back there. Trust me. Max got quick hands for steals. So does AD.
When Kyries hurt:
Even when lebron is absent, the team won games at a high clip cuz of AD and no center..just a bunch of wings. Lebrons hurt? No problem AD wins games with just austin reaves as the ball handler shot creator.. and no center.. What do you think AD will do with Kyrie? Austin reaves is no kyrie. AD Would probably end up playing center at times too with Pj washington at the pf spot And that offense might go into another gear.
How lakers won the trade:
I could explain how but I'm sure u guys will think I'm rubbing it in..when I'm not. The net difference is LA won it 🙏🏾 but it's not by a long shot like most stupid media pundits think. My lakers may not be able to stop anyone lol. But no one is stopping that offense, if jj reddick is as smart as I think he is.

Yes, Luka is better than AD and I get Mavs fans being pissed. But, AD is in the top 75 in NBA history and a first ballot HOF'er.

As a lakers fan I don’t think Mavs fan realize how good AD really is. LeBron gets all the national coverage, but AD was far and away our best player. He’s one of the three best defenders in the nba, and offensively he’s elite. His last game with us he had 40 and 20 and he’s going to thrive even more playing alongside lively and gafford. He was having such a good season that most laker fans were bummed that we traded him, obviously now when we think of our future getting Luka is the correct decision but there’s not 10 players on earth better then AD. Max is also having a break out year as a 3 and D guy and he’s barely 21. Ik it sucks losing Luka, but believe it or not your team is actually better equipped to win a championship this year with AD and Max

Replacing a legend like Luca is next to impossible, but Mavs are getting an excellent front court player in AD and a 21 year old player who gets better each gane with a bright future.

Christie good against Wemby? Maybe in the first 2 games in November when Wemby was still rusty. But the last time the Spurs played vs the Lakers in January, they blew the Lakers out by more than 20 points. Wemby had an easy 23 with 59% shooting. He was windmilling dunks and shii. I think it was also during the Michael Cooper night. Seems like the Spurs already solved that.
