This is just the nba trying to improve ratings and get Lebron another chance at a championship. What's in it for the Mavs. Maybe they will be given a number 1 pick down the road as compensation. This deal makes no sense. Nobody should trade arguably a top 3 player in a league with 30 teams. Especially when a player is going into his prime and can easily play another 12 years. The nba is just as bad as the NFL.

Why? Mavs onwership dont care about the Mavs. They care about money. The NBA is a steadily declining brand. Adelson got ahold of a top asset and sent him to where the league will get more eyeballs. They benefit from more revenue, more betting, more media coverage, especially international media.
Mavs owners also own casinos and want to expand them to Texas. What better way to convince Texas to accept gambling than to use elevated betting numbers in your pitch? "You're missing out on all this gambling revenue" sounds more convincing if the league suddenly has a ratings and gambling boost. This would be investigated if it wasn't all about trying to save their failing business. Go cry about "BLM!!" Surely, that will help. You see what it did last time. Double down.

He is a big defensive liability, mentality is wrong, he always hope to get a favorable call from the referees, he is now overweight and how this will impact his joints, his performance on the long term? On the other hand Dallas got another solid 2 way players who can make an impact on both end of the floor. AD and Gafford together will be a terrific duo. The game will be more fluid for them with Kyrie being the primary ball handler and the Mavs will save 100 millions and will also get a first round pick from the Lakers. The Mavs won this trade. J Kid knows AD very well and this is a win for Dallas
