I don't think people talked about this enough. That 2029 1st Rd pick has no value. Luka turns 29 into his peak prime in 2029. Lakers ain't gonna be a lottery team in 2029. So that draft pick has very little value. Basically the trade is yong Luka for aging AD.

Folks… while retired, I am a REAL journalist who edited multiple Texas newspapers over 40 years. The Luka-AD trade is shocking because it has NOTHING to do with basketball. It is all about POLITICS in Texas… and gambling interests… The new Dallas ownership bought the franchise believing Texas would legalize gambling. That turned out to be a bad wager. Sending Luka to LA helps their core business — gambling. These are the Adelsons… Las Vegas royalty. This move is also payback against conservative Texas lawmakers who don’t want gambling in the state. It also softens the ground for the Mavs possible move to Vegas. Sit back and watch folks… you’ll see five to 10 years from now… This is my neighborhood, Stephen A. That’s why it doesn’t make sense from a sports perspective.

This is not a good person and I stopped caring about the Mavs since Cuban sold the team to her. However, in this case, she knows nothing about basketball and Nico is the guy behind everything.
This reeks of ring chasing. Lebron needs another ring to be taken seriously in conversations with Kobe and Michael as one of the GOAT. He’s surpassed Kobe in points and seasons but will always still be short 1 ring. They trying to get Lebron and Bronny a father and son ring (because it’s never been done before) before Lebron ages out and because Bronny may never get a ring on his own once his dad retires. Despite Lebron’s skills he hasn’t been able to get a ring with the Lakers and AD so they traded AD with someone who makes 3 more ppg hoping that will improve the chances for a championship. I said what I said.

luka is 25 with 65 year old legs. As amazing of a scorer he is he avg close to 30 ppg but he gives even more cause he is incapable of guarding any position. the celtics took turns laying him up. Basketball is in a crazy place you got dudes being called 3 and D guys or 2way players when that is just what a ball players is supposed to be at minimum. This aint football where you either play off or def in basketball you gotta play both and luka doesnt play defense at all he is a 1way player
Luka has 10 injuries this season. He averages roughly 60 games a year and now he is on pace to play 54. Is Luka injury prone?
