Who Needs A Trade When You’re Already This Good? | OKC Thunder NBA Trade News

The NBA trade deadline has been crazy so far. We’ve seen Luka Doncic getting traded to the Lakers for Anthony Davis to the Dallas Mavericks, while De’Aaron Fox has been paired with Victor Wembanyama in San Antonio as Zach Lavine has been traded to the Sacramento Kings. Though one of the teams with the most draft assets that they could trade are the OKC Thunder. But the Thunder have been very conservative in terms of going after a star at the trade deadline despite all their draft picks. Cam Johnson has been linked to OKC but the Thunder so far haven’t been involved in a deal, even as a third team to facilitate a potential Jimmy Butler trade. The OKC Thunder are the best team in the league right now and is headlined by NBA MVP contender Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, first time all-star Jalen Williams, and a deep roster which features Chet Holmgren, Isaiah Hartenstein, Lu Dort, Cason Wallace, Isaiah Joe, Aaron Wiggins, Kenrich Williams, Jaylin Williams, Nikola Topic and Ousmane Dieng. But does the Thunder even need to make a trade?
GM Sam Presti has assembled the biggest stockpile of draft assets in NBA history in Oklahoma City but when will those be valuable for the team? OKC is currently on top of the Western Conference but what does a trade mean for the Thunder, and should they even go after another potential star to solidify their claim as title favorites? The Western Conference is even more stacked with Luka Doncic teaming up with LeBron in Los Angeles, while Anthony Davis and Kyrie Irving are a solid tandem in Dallas. Nikola Jokic and Russell Westbrook have been great in Denver, but will OKC be able to defeat those teams to reach the NBA finals?

They need to swap lu dort for Deni advija they need size in playoffs
This team is only good for regular season
Don't become over confident
I agree.. no need to trade anyone unless its 2nd round picks. We have not seen Chet and Ihart play together yet.. we can afford patience especially as the best team in the league
Is There Someone The Thunder Should Realistically Trade For?
Trade for KD and own the league
I like the 2nd Round Trade Disclaimer at the end of the vid 😂
Nice commentary. No need to change anything at this point when we are winning and still short-handed without our best defender in Chet.. also thanks for acknowledging Wiggins emerging shot creation
Okc need tha trade now
Biggest all star snub, Aaron Wiggins 😆🤷♂️⛈️💙💪
After the Luka trade, thunder have enough capital to trade 4 everyone in the NBA
Agreed …the minute i saw the thumbnail.
If Deing can ball out, it’s over for the next 5 years
With Dallas getting Davis OKC has an problem the Davis trade affected OKC more than a y other team watçh my word
The Thunder need a tertiary on ball creator to support Jalen when Shai off the floor. Ajay was becoming that player before his injury.
Ousmane Dieng and Dillon Jones + drsft compensation to the Bulls for Coby White
Technically, the Thunder is third in the league in 3 point % differential for the season. We have seen the Thunders percentage drop but I believe that is because of the increase in defensive intensity (first in the league) and that has to factor in when considering the value of the 3 point shot. Who cares what the season percentage is when it only matters how it impacts the outcome of a given game. The perimeter defense of the Thunder dictates the performance of the 3 point shot – this is reflected in the net point differential for the season.
Shai, Cason, Lu, Dub & Chet… plus Caruso, Joe, Wiggins & Hart… Ajay, J. Will, Kendrich & Ous

I think if we’re able to get cam Johnson for a like 1 st and 1-2 2nd rounders plus a low end guy like Kenrich or Dillion jones
Thunders also won several games over shorthanded opponents namely most recent the Bucks. Playoffs games are different from regular season games when every game counts. Playoffs experience is crucial when critical issues need adjustment quickly against the same team in a series matchup. Can't rely heavily on SGA alone. One of the two weaknesses 3-points shooter or offensive rebounding needs attention ASAP. Regular season stats can be confusing. All the Thunders excellent stats don't include those against Mavs for one and who else.
I think Chris Paul would be one of the best we could get both for his role on the team and the storyline if he finally gets a ring with the city he first played in the NBA for (back in New Orleans Hornets days). Even on the Spurs side, I'd think Fox and Wemby would be better off building chemistry for the remainder of the season seeing as their chances at the playoffs are fairly low right now. Chris Paul would fit very well for a bench unit if we have someone like Dieng or IHart being the primary lob threats if Chet and IHart stagger their minutes. Realistically, the only "weak point" Thunder has is Dillon Jones, but I highly doubt he sees real minutes during the playoffs.
Trade atleast a veteran with deep playoffs experience.
We need another consistent scorer when we play championship teams for the playoffs. I do say no trade maybe pick someone up that gets released.
I love the way our team is set up I don't feel we need a trade to win the championship or to get to the next level but I do feel we need to make a trade. The reason is we are not going to be able to make selections with all of these pics and be able to feel them on our roster and keep players we know and love something there has to give and I don't want it to be Isaiah Joe and Aaron Wiggins and the like. I'd rather deal some pics that aren't guys I'm attached to yet and make a deal and get better just so we don't waste so much. I don't know how that happens or what that looks like but something has to give
