The recent stretch of wins has showcased that this team is completely capable of climbing up the standings into the play-in tournament if they want to but is that the right move for the team with players like Cooper Flagg, Ace Bailey and Dylan Harper available to them in the NBA draft?

Waiting for a pick in 2031??? Like you said trying to find a decent centre for a good price is really hard. Masai already said he’s not looking to building in 5 years, more like in 2. Poetl isn’t that old, and there’s no guarantee we’re getting Cooper Flagg. Other really bad teams are too far behind for the Raps to catch up to them.
If the Fox and Doncic trades are any indication, it seems to be a buyers market. Remember the Gobert, Durant deals where they got huge returns. It seems like you can get a superstar for 2 firsts right now in comparison, so go and try to get one. Barnes needs a sidekick now.

I really don't think the Raptors will do anything before the deadline. The cap space they get from the free agents makes the most sense. Not my favorite decision but it seems logical.
Does that mean Khaman Maluach is a lock as the Raptors? (Unless Raptors won the lottery but if they rank anything from 5-8th then Khaman Maluach is a lock)
I don’t trust the Raptors front office to be proactive. I think they’ll just stay the course and remain directionless.

@jakob gramegna you know if the raptors trade jakob poeltl he was asking for too much to stay on a rebuilding raptors team. it would probably take almost a max for raptors to resign jakob in 36-40 million a year range for him to stay in toronto. his price to resign with a contender in a warm city with less taxes for much less.
its like kelly olynyk he was worth only 5 million, but raptors had to pay him 11.5 million a year for him to sign in toronto, even though he is canadian.
There not going to make a lot of moves they will not be getting rid of Jak, they will be making the playin, hopefully getting a top 6 pick when everything is said n done, they have a good young core that needs to build a winning culture. Tanking is stupid no guarantee they will get a top 3 pick
