Josh, that makes zero sense. Are you saying we had the chance to sign a former All-Star, #2 draft pick and elite scorer to pair with Scottie in exchange for two expiring contracts and draft picks—and we turn it down? Explain that to me, while considering the fact that this trade will not impact our draft position. I will take Brandon Ingram and a player in the top 10 in this year's draft, thank you. You are already seeing that the pieces management has put together thus far has begun to jell, this in my opinion will add to the potency of the offense (while making the defence better with Gradey going to the bench).
Who cares what lewenberg thinks. The pick up won’t change our draft pick. The Indy pick makes no difference because Indiana isn’t gonna suck. So no loss there. The team isn’t suddenly going to get better because of this trade. We have nothing to worry about in terms of where we pick in the draft. Why does this dude get any airtime. 🤦♂️
Does Josh even watch Raptors games? The vision is pretty clear—the tank is still on. Adding Ingram now isn’t suddenly going to make this team a contender. That win streak was fueled by Bruce and Kelly (and Chris). Now that they’re gone, we’re back to the ethical tank, letting the young guys develop. Ingram, IQ, and RJ will likely sit a lot and play sparingly. Next year, they’ll be in the playoffs. We’re in good hands.
Disagree. Anytime you can flip old guys or seldom used bench guys (esp w/ bad contracts) for an all star talent you make that trade. Picks weren’t that great anyway as they said. This is a W I think…
On paper this is a great trade for the Raptors. Unfortunately, what I don't like about this trade is if he re-signs or not and if he does the Raptors will probably overpay him. They had to get rid of Bruce Brown or he would've walked for nothing. Olylyk can be replaced and Indys first which isn't too bad. This was a great trade only really giving up a 1st round pick and second round pick.
How is he such a clown not to realize that Ingram isn’t a win now (as in win this season) move…. He’s gonna play 4-5 games at most on a mins restriction just to hype the fans and then get shut down along with Yak to tank the rest of the way. Raptors legit gutted the vet bench for rookie development. How does this clown not get that 🤦🏻
I get the whole spacing conversation but this all sounds so incredibly exaggerated Josh
You gave up 2 players that weren’t gonna stay around long & nonsense “1 round pick” for a player WHEN HEALTHY is gonna be the teams BEST SCORER. We bought low, so what?
He’s still injured & we will still stay the course of tanking for a top 5 pick I’m sure. There is nothing wrong here..
For what they gave up in the trade, it’s a minimal risk for a legit #1 scoring option.
Barnes is a great all around player, but there is a big enough sample size to realize he’s not going to be a top 10 scorer in the NBA, the raptors desperately need a go- to guy like Ingram.
It’s wrong to think about ‘building around Barnes’ when the best version of Barnes is the 2nd or 3rd best player on a championship team.
Ingram is still hurt and he won’t affect the raptors draft position this year, this still gives you the chance at another star like Flagg, Bailey, or Harper in the draft.
This Josh guy hasn't watched us all year, he's an all star and all we had to give up is 2 rounder and olynyck and Indians 1s rounder who are a playoff team and a Bruce brown who was going to traded anyway
lol they are literally 4 teams worst than us no matter who much we tank, we went on a 10+ game loosing streak and still weren't the even top 3 worst teams in the league
We have Walter and dick and whatever first rounder we get this year, 3 good young player under 25 one of them an all star last season in Barnes and now we add a veteran scorer who can create his own shot and play off ball, playmake, pass, rebound
Lol this Josh guy wants to tank for 3 years straight
This is dumb. We have to resign him in the offseason. This is dumb. We need Cooper flag. He would be perfect for our team. Not Brandon ingram. Man this is dumb
How does Josh still have a job with tsn! This was a great pick up for the raptors ! Ingram is an incredible scorer who’s going to help this team tremendously. Big W for the raptors on this one
I like that he said it's a bad trade, but then said there's now too much talent on this roster to tank…in other words, they got better despite his misgivings…great analysis. Ingram's injured, he's probably going to be slow getting back, and the coaches still hold the reins on who plays and how much. The tank is still happening, they'll still get a great pick and they picked up a genuine talent on the cheap.
Lewenberg is so far off on this. He is acting as if we gave up a young core or a bunch of picks. We literally dumped expirings and a single Indiana first rounder. Its not bad at all

Really not that big of a bet. Lol.

Josh sucks
2 out of 3 head coaches should be fired off the professional sports teams in Toronto
I dont see how this was a 'BIG BET' as Josh called it, they barely gave up anything to get a former all star who is just 27.

Lewenberg got his credentials from Teemu.
It feels like the Raps got BI for a half eaten bag of chips. How is this not a W? This is dope. Not every trade can be for Luka or Kawhi lol
For a pacers first and none of the core?

Im fucking done with masai
Keep trading picks for bums
great move
TSN has no foresight, they clearly also have no basketball analytical skills. What a great move for Toronto TSN is going to be eating crow.

This is a good trade.. Now we need another center

Real raptor fans genuinely wish that the team wins. Not hoping they lose or tank. I want this team to be about growth and developing a winning culture
They got him for nothing. Great trade. When you can grt talent. You do
Josh become weather man. Clearly basketball you know nothing about.
L josh take

Raps media are all idiots
What is Josh talking about. This is a great trade. For so many reasons
Josh you’re dumb
Josh Lewenberg is so salty

It is sad that they wont commit to a few solid years of high drafting. Play-In money to important.
Brandon Ingram is still injured for the next month. This allows them to continue to tank for there 2025 draft pick
this guy is such a loser lmfao
ATP give me a job on TSN, this Josh guy doesn’t watch basketball clearly. Ingram is a steal in this trade
Inconsistent from 3, yet Ingram this season is shooting 37% from 3 josh needs to find a new sport to analyze
They also gotta keep Scottie B happy. He'll want to win sooner rather than later.
Lewenberg just loves being negative about everything.
Beautiful fit and beautiful timing.
Just surprised TSN didn’t thank hockey for the trade somehow.
Incredible trade, this guy is an idiot
Lewenberg is so far off on this. He is acting as if we gave up a young core or a bunch of picks. We literally dumped expirings and a single Indiana first rounder. Its not bad at all
Bring back Dan otoole
