Zion Williamson TRADE to Utah Jazz? Should the Utah jazz do it

David Locke, radio voice of the Utah Jazz and Jazz NBA Insider, proposes a bold move: trading for Zion Williamson. Despite Williamson’s injury history and professionalism concerns, Locke argues the Jazz’s abundance of draft picks makes this high-risk, high-reward gamble worthwhile. He outlines a potential deal involving John Collins, Jordan Clarkson, and protected first-round picks, emphasizing the 18-month window to rehabilitate Williamson before a potential 2026-27 season push.

The podcast also covers the Lakers’ acquisition of Mark Williams, setting a benchmark for Walker Kessler’s trade value. Locke expresses frustration with the Lakers’ continued good fortune and discusses the Jazz’s impressive win over the Warriors, highlighting standout performances from Keyonte George and Walker Kessler. The episode concludes with trade deadline expectations and praise for the Jazz front office’s savvy roster management, including recent moves involving Drew Eubanks and Dennis Schröder.

  1. If you can get Zion, then go for it. Jazz can't be choosy when it comes to elite talent. We all know players don't want to go to Utah so this would be perfect.

  2. First I love that you've so channeled why I hate the lakers so much. Every other team has to scrape and toil to get one HOF guy in the door to maybe make a run and they just have them fall in their laps every time it looks like they might not be good for a minute.

Also I'd make that Zion trade, what we're learning is give things a shot, a few other bounces of the ball and Minnesota would have been in the finals last year. If the premise is we're building to win a championship I think the lesson right now is try things, most won't work out but if just one pays off that's the kind of big pot you need to get to the front of the pack because we don't have the built in advantages of the lakers etc.

  3. Even if we did get Zion he most likely don’t want to play in Utah! For some reason we can’t get superstars to play for the jazz! So Zion will probably just asked for a trade anyway.

  4. Lets never forget Warriors traded for D.Lo just to then trade him to Wiggins and he was crucial to GSW in their championship run. Zion could be step 1. Do it. Think ahead

  5. He is an elite talent, but he is fat and lazy, which has meant that he is injured far more than he is healthy.
If we were lucky enough to get Flag, where do they all play?

  6. Yeah, let’s watch him cash our checks for 2-3 years and have him play 15-20 games while he’s here. What’s not to like?

  7. At first I was also a big hell no…but if we give him a chance to rest and not play for 18 months I'm all in. I think that gets us Cooper Flagg as well as potentially AJ Dybantsa if we're lucky. If we don't rest him and he plays half a season we're just in purgatory for the next 10 years.

Keyonte George as a 2 guard is what I've been calling for since he was drafted. His natural development was never point guard and we've been putting him in a position to fail by hoping he would play it. Stoked to see him do well with Collier as the 1 and him at the 2.

  8. Welll…..I do not believe in Zion anymore but you laid out a good argument. I just dont like the dude's personality. Hes just a big child that wants to sleep around. He wants to be rich and have all the benefits of being a basketball star without playing basketball or as little as possible.

I also deeply appreciate your feeling as around the 14-15 minute mark…..thank you for showing us your emotions. I think this was my favorite episode!

  9. I voted “No” before watching this episode. But I think you’re right, Locke. If you have any sway with Danny Ainge, let’s make this happen!

  10. "…we all need a therapy session." Especially Danny Ainge. Freakin Lakers pulled the wool over our eyes in that trade. I hope it comes back to haunt them. But they are one of the two biggest NBA markets, so they get the nod… or push. The other thing is you are probably up against one of the richest owners in the NBA on the other side, which doesn't really care about basketball too much…. If you know what I mean.
Should we trade John Collins and JC and a pick for Zion? I've said yeah we should get Zion if we think we could get him happy in his personal life… preferably happily married. I think that would give him new purpose and back on the right track.. or court… right now he's in limbo hell, and it shows. I'm afraid they would want too much though.
I agree with letting Key play the 2 guard, and he's pretty damn good at it. Maybe letting him play point for a year helped make him a better 2 guard too. He and Collier look pretty damn good together if you ask me. Collier is showing awesome improvement. If no one picks up Sexton, we can keep him too. They guy is just a bucket, and is improving on D… at least giving the effort. We might have to be happy with just having an excellent starting 5 and an excellent bench rather than the very best starting 5, unless we get lucky… which doesn't seem to happen a lot in the NBA.

  11. Danny "Genius" Ainge is really just Danny "sit and do nothing while asking too much and pretend that you're smarter than the rest of the league" Ainge
