Jimmy isn’t a secondary star I love GSW but I don’t think this moves the needle for us… we still have no trade value because nobody wants Jimmy they’d take Kuminga before Jimmy and Warriors will not him go so anyway we’re still stuck with no offense besides Steph😢
For me Jimmy doesn't make the Warriors much better. This move doesn't address the major hole in the lineup, a good big 5. The Warriors should get Nikola Vučević to complete the team.

Pat traded for 3 champs, flipped on for an NCAA champ and excellent defender, who I think can become one if the best 3&D guards in the league if he works on his shooting with coach Wayne Ellington (former sniper).
PJ could’ve been a UD guy in the locker room on the bench where UD couldn’t be as present. But I love how Pat Riley quieted the noise with these trades, and I agree Andrew Wiggins is a PERFECT dream fit for the conditioning atmosphere of Miami and an excellent scary fit alongside Bam and Ware, and on the perimeter now defensively with lineups ft. Davion.
Wiggins also is an underrated offensive rebounder and finisher at the guard/forward spot

Jimmy has carried BUMS to the finals twice in 4 seasons, and you have people saying he changes nothing compared to Wiggins. They are two COMPLETELY different tiers of players. Butler is a playoff overachiever, Wiggins is just a guy. This is a no lose situation for the Warriors

I'm a big fan of the show. I am a basketball coach myself and I frequently take concepts I learn on the show and share them with my players. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Question: Now that the Lakers have Luka, in the off-season, would it be worth it to trade Austin Reaves for a high-level defensive wing or big guard who can shoot (maybe Deandre Hunter), Reaves is a very good player, but Luka more than replaces his productivity and ball handling.
They could start Luka, Lebron, DFS, (theoretical 3&D wing player), and Mark Williams. Plus Rui, Kleber and Vando would provide a combination of defense, length and shooting off the bench. Stagger Lebron and Luka so one of them is always on the floor.
That lineup would provide a lethal drive and kick or pick and roll attack on offense and would be good enough on defense.
Leverage is gone for a decent big, they have to lose more players. And they still need to be coached/put in the right positions! Last night was an awful recurring nightmare that needs to end, but won’t if the same lineups happen.
Butler is a playoff riser so if they can get in might do some damage.

This analysis would be spot on if this was 2-3 years ago. Both Steph and Jimmy are 35 plus and declining athletically by the day. They will be a 500 mediocre team .

Jason, the thing you forgot about Kuminga is that he has scored 20 or more in every game where he's gotten more than 25 minutes on the floor. JKs success depends entirely on whether Kerr decides to actually play him. In fact, your comment that the Warriors are "well-coached" is simply misinformed. Had you actually watched every Warriors game this year, you would see a consistent pattern. Warriors start the game with 3-4 guard lineups. Warriors get absolutely dunked on in the 1st quarter (with Steph on the floor). Bench comes in and "saves the day", but really the bench just actually has a better balance of size on the floor. Steve doesn't learn, and starts the 3rd quarter (and/or closes the game) with the starting lineup that got blown out—and the Warriors lose. Steve Kerr has absolutely no idea what he's doing anymore. And all you have to do to know this is to watch the game.
The ONLY trade the Warriors needed to make at the deadline was to fire Steve Kerr and hire Mike Brown. That's it. That's all that was necessary.

Love Wiggins and forever grateful to him, but Warriors fans are delusional thinking he's anywhere near Butler's league. This was a good buy low, sell high trade. A year ago Wiggins' value was way lower and we couldn't have gotten Butler even if we included Kuminga, Podz and all our 1st round picks.
I've been clamoring for management to at least get Steph a legit #2 scorer. They haven't had that since 2019, whereas LeBron and KD always get to play with superstars.
Jimmy is a bigger better version of Melton, he will fit right in. They still need a big though to have a chance.
