The story about Luka's condition and the fact that he is supposedly out of shape is nonsense, a cynical excuse of hypocrites who want to alleviate the anger of fans with this. How can someone who played 100 games with an average of 40 minutes per game and leads a team to the league finals be out of shape, don't you think that someone is trying to make you an idiot? It is obvious that all this has nothing to do with Luka being out of shape, fat, or due to injuries, all of this is bullshit. The story that we would never have won the championship with Luka also makes no sense, because I am sure that Luka would have definitely won the championship. The kind of chemistry that the team had last season is very rare and cannot be easily created, I would rather say that it is very rare and that someone destroys it means that they don't like this team, or that there is something much bigger behind it and if this is the case then Adam Silver is also involved in it. Everything is fine with Luka's leg. The thing is that during the season, when every game meant, he didn't have time to repair his injuries and was constantly play through the injuries, now he has had enough time to heal the injury for the first time and now everything is as it should be, his father Saša also stated this. All other theories are much more likely, with the exception of the one that Luka is out of shape and would never win a championship. Maybe someone didn't want the best player of all time to win everything like the Mavericks. I don't think the person who mentioned the burglar in Luka's house was saying anything stupid, think about it, someone broke into his house and stole only watches worth 30k dollars. What if some documents, some contracts and agreements that would have prevented what happened disappeared with these watches, and now that they are gone Luka can't prove or demand what is in the contract. Basically, in my eyes, Nico Harrison is someone who doesn't deserve a nice word, someone who destroyed the Mavericks and everyone will soon realize that.

Luka raised the Mavericks like a phoenix from the ashes, he made them to be contenders, he created the perception that the Dallas Mavericks were a team that respected its players and treated them fairly, he created the perception that the Mavericks were a safe home, this was exactly the reason that the team started attracting stars, that is, names that mean a lot in basketball and that otherwise would never have come to this city, Luka revived this trend. Because of Luka, Kyrie Irving chose the Dallas Mavericks over LA and LeBron. Klay Thompson publicly said that he came to Dallas because of Luka and the respectful attitude that the players on this team received. Do you remember what the Dallas Mavericks were called in the past, when no one wanted to come play for this club and if someone talented was already drafted or traded to them, everyone would run away somewhere else at the first opportunity, the Mavericks always had trouble recruiting good players with whom they could compete and Luka changed that so that Dallas became a desirable distillation and how did this club thank him? By trading him away against his will at the moment when he should have signed a super-max contract, the highest in league history, by getting only one first pick in the future draft for him, by not asking him anything, but sending him away overnight as if he were someone who averaged 2 ppg, 0.5 rbg, 0.5 apg and with the stupidest excuses that the whole world knows are not true, that everyone knows are lies. You saw the faces of his teammates, you saw Jason Kidd's face, who was visibly shocked, as well as Kyrie and Klay. What do you think the players in the league will think about the Dallas Mavericks and the chance to play there from now on, does the club really believe that they will ever regain the trust and reputation that they have now squandered? First of all you have a good idea but the nba will never let the mavericks leave dallas. Dallas is the fourth biggest metro area in the united states. So no matter what it would never happen.

NBA will never move the Dallas franchise, the TV market is too big. The lakers needed a new face of the global NBA brand and a hot mid season story to remind everyone that this sport exists. The NBA definitely views keeping a team in north texas as a non negotiable.

I've gotten really into locked on NBA this year. I'm not a mavs fan but I've been listening to locked on mavs since the luka deal. Not sure how much longer i will listen, but I will say you guys are definitely great podcasters.

I’ve been Mavs die hard fan for over 30 years and I’m really feeling like I can’t rock them anymore. Luka is the greatest player we’ve EVER had (that includes Dirk, who is my most favorite player of all time). This dumb move was just that terrible.
