Just looking at the 3 trades that took place today, it was very clear to me these trades were done with the goal of getting under the luxury tax. Why else are you attaching a 2nd round pick to Cody Zeller’s 3.5 million dollar contract in a trade package when your 3 million over the luxury tax. I also don’t think Hunter is as valuable any others think he is, but that return is still underwhelming. I think the most reasonable explanation for these trades was Tony Ressler put pressure on management to get under the luxury tax, and as a result they had to settle for underwhelming returns.
I always thought Hunter was soft asf. Glad he’s gone.

Brad, quit gaslighting your audience. Hawks just GAVE AWAY Hunter and Bogi for a few chumps and 2nd round picks. Bogi is having a bad year. But that does not mean he's garbage. Hawks are just NOT a serious franchise.

Brad i understand that gms don't like hunters contract but outside of maybe Santi Aldama and naje Marshall possibly herb jones can you find me another player like hunter at the moment who isnt a star level player . ok defender pretty consistent 16 ppg off the bench. A guy who when has played healthy in the playoffs has been very solid. This move tells me next year the hawks are just not serious. Hunter while maybe overpaid is a guy you need on your bench to give you depth at the sf position even though risacher is the future. Also remember the last time the hawks had good bench pieces they had to overpay by a lot handing out some of the biggest contracts to bogi and gallinari. Niang is about as good as David Roddy defensively on the eye test and lavert can be our new bogi but now we need a new hunter unless you believe Terrence man is a sf. Although he's not a good shooter. Idk it's a cheap move for an archetype that is heavily coveted across the league without even a first round pick.
Hawks keep making trades year after year, but remain mid.

Here’s the thing for me (and I think you’d agree.) This team feels like it’s in free fall and we don’t have our first round pick. Kings pick is looking ify at best rn and Lakers pick is looking worse and worse. If we were able to package Hunter and Bogi and the Lakers first for a better first, like ours from the Spurs for example (not saying they’d do that, just an example), I think ppl would be ok with the trades. But we r at the mercy of other teams, and it looks bleak rn.
I'm done with the Hawks under current ownership/management. They aren't concerned with winning. Just keeping the organization out of the luxury tax by any means necessary.
Dammmn I feel like a Mavs fan, trade big assets for nothing. Cavs suckered us with Caris Levert a player that declined heavily.
To summarize the first 15 minutes: If you do not like the Hunter trade, you do not understand the league like I do and must be a casual fan.

What’s funny is that before the season started, Hawks fans would have been ecstatic about Hunter’s trade return and pissed about Bogi’s. Now it’s the opposite 😂

The Hawks are just Hawking & making terrible moves as usual. I would be shocked if they actually made a good move. Also the Hawks spent years waiting on Hunter to get good & now he's gone.
