  1. Jerome took over for what Caris is sometimes good at. Hows that so hard to comprehend? Also, who in TF was Hunter gonna pass the ball to on the Hawks after getting it with 1.7 seconds left on the shot clock every time down the floor? Gotta use your brain dude, jesus

  2. The problem with these podcasters is that they are all trying to one up the other guys for smartest guy in the room. Get a grip guys. Caris Levert has missed quite a few games this year and guess what happened. The Cavs ball handling and ball movement were fine. All the whining about not getting Cam Johnson. Cam Johnson didn't get traded at all. Kind of surprising. The Nets must have been asking for too much. Fuck the Nets. That very last comment of the video about where Max Strus ranks on a Big Board of best point guards was way off base. Nobody is saying Max Strus is ever going to play point guard for the Cavs in the playoffs. The Cavs have Garland, Mitchell, Jerome and even Porter that would play point before Strus. As a two guard Strus is a decent facilitator. Does anyone remember Strus' triple double (with 11 assists) late last year when everyone else was resting for the playoffs? Max Strus can facilitate if needed. He's proven it time and again with Mobley and Allen. These podcasters think being contrarian is hip. Barf!

About the trade, Koby Altman worked some wizardry here. He solved the Cavs seemingly eternal lack of a true SF problem. In doing so he sidesteps the luxury tax. Plus, he keeps a hold of the 2031 first round pick and Jaylon Tyson is still a Cav. Koby Altman rocked this trade deadline. Traded away Niang who is a matchup nightmare for the Cavs against anybody good and Caris Levert who is expiring and they probably weren't going to be able to keep around next year anyway. Three seconds and two pick swaps in 2026 and 2028 that won't ever convey because for them to convey the Cavs would have to finish with a worse record than both the Hawks and the Jazz. Slam fucking dunk of a trade!

Consider this, the Knicks traded 5 future first round picks, an unprotected first round pick swap and 2 additional second round picks along with 3 existing players for Mikal Bridges (and some additional garbage). Compare that to what the Cavs gave up for Hunter. Now let's compare Hunter's stats this season to Bridges. I'm looking at the Per36 stats of both players so that we are comparing apples to apples since the two players don't play the same number of minutes per game. In Per36 stats, Hunter this year is 23.8 ppg, 4.9 rpg, 1.9 apg, 1.0 spg, 0.2 bpg while shooting 39.3% from 3 point and 85.5% from FT. Bridges this year is 17.1 ppg, 2.9 rpg, 3.1 apg, 0.9 apg, 0.5 bpg while shooting 36.0% from 3 point and 74.3% from FT. Koby is clearly getting great value here for the price. We'll see how Hunter fits in with the Cavs, but it just feels like the team with the best record in East just managed to solve multiple problems and got better overall. Boston did nothing. New York got Delon Wright and so what. Did Orlando or Indiana do anything? Miami is reaching. Milwaukee probably improved at least a little but who really knows, and Detroit is still a year or two away. This trade deadline could not have gone any better for Cleveland. Did OKC do anything? Daniel Theis? Good for them.

Now the rumors about Ben Simmons. As far as buyouts go, Ben Simmons would only cost the Cavs about 1 million against the cap for the remainder of the year. Simmons is a very interesting player for only 1 million dollars (compared to the 40 million he's currently getting). At 6-10 with a 7-0 wingspan, he's a good defender and he is a ball handler and a good passer and distributor (could solve some of the woah is us we lost Caris Levert sentiment these podcasters went on and on about in this video). He is averaging 6.9 assists this year in only 25 minutes per game (that's better than Darius Garland's 6.8 assists in 30 minutes per game). The Cavs could sub Ben Simmons into the game when Jarrett Allen subs out to continue to be able to play 4 out. It would be hard to play Simmons and Allen at the same time because of floor spacing except maybe when you are trying to smother the other team with defense. Who knows if Ben Simmons is the best option but it sure seems intriguing for the Cavs. LA might be too big for Ben Simmons' psyche. Getting out of New York and coming to Cleveland might be good for him. Perhaps Kenny Atkinson can unlock him again back to the level of player he was earlier in his career.

  3. I’m with Tony on this. This a great move. These guy worried about Hunter defense but wanted cam Johnson. Make it make sense. Hunter is a better fit than Johnson for me.

  5. Who is this smug debbie downer on the right? Bro we loved caris but to put so much negativity around hunter when we literally NEEDED depth at the wing position. Even without lavert we have legitimately 5 different players that AT BARE MINIMUM can pick and roll dump off to allen or Mobley downlow. Bro again I LOVE LAVERT but how many times have we seen him smoke wide open layups?! and this is how you know hes just had a breakup or his pet passed away recently, whats the point of poo pooing so much on Hunter in comparison to Wade even if your smug enough to believe wade has a better and more important skillset then hunter (which i think is crazy) WHEN WE GOT BOTH OF THEM!?? It's not like we have to do a deep dive comparison between both of them like we had traded Dean or something For goodness sakes man are you even a fan of the cavs?

  6. good show , interesting takes, we still need Wade to be healthy , ive said it all year and people thought i was crazy in the beginning of the season, wade is the x factor on this squad , as weird as it sounds ..

  7. Ty jerome has won a number of games for us , we were too heavy at guard ..Plus expiring contract of LaVert … Porter can handle himself incase of injury.. Team should be better balanced . hope Wade is back then we are a large team , pick up Dwight Howard haha

  8. Jack doing the most with his takes lmao… over here talking about Hunters assist percentage… i have news we do not care, he wasn’t brought to the Cavs to get assists.

  9. Who pissed in Jacks coffee? You’re wrong about Caris and calling him really good is delusional. They just got a 19 ppg 6’8 guy who’s way younger .

  10. I think Levert is a good player but very streaky and didn’t fit as well on this team as Hunter will

We needed a 3 and D wing badly and have ample ball handlers and creaters

When Levert is on he is very good but when he is off he’s unplayable. I think getting a more consistent player is huge for this team that has some streaky players in Okoro, Merril and Wade

  11. The cavs have two all star guards that can run point! Even before you get into the playmaking offered by the star bigs or the other bench guards there is no world in which I'm freaking out about Caris LeVert's 3.7 apg.

  12. I agree with Tony you’re definitely over valuing The ball handling tbh not plus there is still the buyout market. Also the rotation shrinks in playoffs so Ty will only need to hold it down for 10 – 15 min which he is more than capable of doing.

  13. Ayo what????? Caris was just on his regular off slump. When he’s hot yes he’s good but he’s NOT CONSISTENT WHAT SO EVER. Never has been. Without a doubt is this a move you had to make and George Niang who just had 3 pts 5 fouls against the Celtics? 😂

  14. Jerome and Hunter were teamates at Virginia. This may boost the value of Jerome now and enhance what Hunter will be able to accomplish when the two are together on the floor.

  15. Jack is always a Debbie downer or a buzz Q. Everybody know somebody in their life that’s just negative. He’s just a downer. That person who hits the lottery and says “ well what am I going to do with all that money?” That’s Jack.

  16. This Tony guy the only one with some sense out of the trio on this take. Niang doesn’t crack any contending teams playoff rotation. So it’s basically Vert vs Hunter. Hunter is 6’8 with a 7’2 wingspan. What the hell are we talking about? They lost me when they said Vert is a playmaker. It’s been a long time since I seen Very be a playmaker lol. Dude just dribbles recklessly and looks to get defenders off balance. But lately he’s the only one off balance when he’s the one with the bal 😂😂 both Niang and Vert have become complete liabilities. It’s about damn time.

  17. We have Darius Garland, Donovan Mitchell and Ty Jerome, plus we wants to run more offense through Mobley how many more ball handlers do we need?💀 we have enough. Even CPJ can give you solid minutes as another ball handler

  18. All the Cavs need now is Lebron James, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love has got a little gas left in the tank and they can combine 2016 with 2025. Take that Celtics, bring Larry Bird outta retirement.☘️🏀🐸

  19. Jack is a 🤡 talking about how important Lavert was in the playoffs, and doubling down even after Tony gives his playoff stats. Come on dude, the stats said he sucked, the eye test said he sucked, just admit he sucked.

Lavert was also gone after this year, while hunter is on a reasonable contract for 2 more years after this season
