Orlando Magic’s trade deadline decision: A missed opportunity
The Orlando Magic’s decision to stand pat at the NBA trade deadline could be a missed opportunity. The Magic left several clear needs unaddressed that have held the team back this year and for much of the past decade.
Orlando’s flaws were on display in clear vision in their 112-90 loss to the Denver Nuggets on Thursday to end their road trip. The Magic are sticking with their roster and betting that health will get them on the right track.
It does not change that the Magic will have to make some difficult decisions and add to the roster this offseason.

fire jeff welt-trash enough is enough paolo and franz deserve better than this. look at the spurs for example this is victor 2nd yr and they got him chris paul and deaaron fox meanwhile the magic got paolo and franz and all they give them is kcp with 55 mil in cap space what a complete failure and a joke. jeff weltman has proven he doesnt know how to put the pieces togther to build a team that can win a playoff series. time to thank him for his service and move on before paolo gets tired and ask out
Magic Have No Answers for Jokic, Porter Jr. in Blowout Loss to Nuggets.
I am most displeased that they did not hire someone to replace Moe. Clearly a risk that has already blown up in our faces. We could have done with someone like Jonas but nothing but crickets. Bah!
Whether they played together or not this team is not enough to go all the way. Injuries or not what were we waiting for. Suggs is good but he’s not gonna come back and just take us to the top
The Orlando Magic suffered a disappointing loss in Denver last night, leaving fans frustrated as the team dearly missed the defensive presence and energy of both Moe Wagner and Jalen Suggs, who were sidelined due to injuries; particularly concerning is the news that Moe Wagner will require a lengthy knee rehabilitation, potentially keeping him out until the 2027 season.
The Magic's loss in Denver was exacerbated by the absence of Moe Wagner and Jalen Suggs, who are considered vital to the team's defensive intensity and overall hustle on the court.
Impact of injuries:
Without Wagner's inside presence and Suggs' defensive versatility, the Magic struggled to maintain their usual defensive rhythm, leading to a difficult loss.
Moe Wagner's long recovery:
The most concerning news is that Wagner's knee injury will require a significant period of rehabilitation, meaning he is likely to miss the remainder of the current season and potentially a large portion of the next.
The stand pat magic strikes again 🤦🏾♂️😭😭😭
Pathetic. Everyone is being asked to max out everything they have and do, aside from the FO. They work two days a year and do absolutely nothing to solve glaring issues. Why are they making this so difficult? Why? We are now getting close to the point of needing to discuss how P5 and Franz truly feel about us not putting the proper pieces around them. I have zero faith in this FO! We are in year 7 in this rebuild and we’re talking about the the play-in? With two stars?? This is wild
And yes we are about to get some schedule wins, but that’s all we are. We’re the team that can beat a bad team at home and constantly count on that to get by. There’s zero excuse for doing nothing at this deadline. It’s either complete negligence or incompetence…can’t decide which
You mentioned usage rates. Weren’t we the team that was supposed to win by committee? When did we decide and become a two man offense. No one signed up for this and we are making it so unnecessarily difficult for them if the plan is just to spread the floor and let them rip. Why???? Why?????
Stop putting this on franz/p5. There’s no incentive for them to succeed with this roster, not to mention it’s not even possible, and give anyone anymore false hope (cough cough, our idiot FO)
And I’ll remind everyone one more time the organization was making season ticket renewal calls all week long leading up to the deadline. So they’re happy to ask fans to commit financially before deciding whether or not to act. It’s blatant Mickey Mouse with this team/organization. Always btw. Been doing this for 35 years now. Smh
You guys are overreacting. Suggs and Moe are out. … the reason we were winning is from bigs inside passing. Moe, goga, Paolo, Isaac, could all send and receive alley oops, now all we have is Wendell “Jordan” Carter dominating the ball…
We need to trade Wendell, and use Moe as a trade piece because his contract expires and we can get him right back! The problem is no one that makes sense is available in the off season. Maybe somehow we can sneak Chet Holmgrem away from OKC
