Niang is a great guy, but getting Hunter without giving up Tyson, Wade, and/or Okoro is a huge win.
The Cavs are 30-5 with Wade starting. They were better when Okoro was healthy instead of Strus because of Okoro's D and low usage. Strus is too present taking too many shots and tuning the ball over far more than any of the other wings. Yes, he can get hot, but in general Wade and Okoro have been more effective for team success.
Hunter doesn't pound the rock too much and as a starter or off the bench, he can provide size and punch on the wing.
The Cavs have been trying to give Craig Porter Jr more minutes, but Ty Jerome has been too elite for CPJ to get those minutes. LeVert simply wasn't needed with Jerome's and Porter's development.
And more than anything, the team was able to improve their talent while also getting under the tax.
