De’Andre Hunter trade proves Cavs think they can win championship NOW

The Atlanta Hawks traded De’Andre Hunter to the Cleveland Cavaliers for Caris LeVert, Georges Niang, three second-round picks, and two swaps. Is Hunter the missing piece for a Cavs team that sits atop the Eastern Conference?

  1. Gonna miss LeVert and Niang, but this was a great grab for the Cavs.

The Cavs got a guy who is 95% of OG Anonoby for literally half the price. They got a guy who is better than Cam for the same price and didn't have to give up the picks the Nets would have wanted for Cam.

Didnt give up the promising rookie. Got taller, faster, younger, more athletic, and better defensively. Cleveland's depth is still somehow uneffected thanks to Ty Jerome.

AND Hunter has a history of playing great ball against the Knicks and the Celtics.

    A+ trade

  2. I think this is the missing piece…
We haven't had a 3 forward since LeBron
He's not LeBron but it's the one thing we did not have…
    It doesn't matter who starts
    It's who finishes…

  3. Hunter will most likely start at the 3. They don't really have anyone else. Wade is too inconsistent.

  4. The Cavs got the exact type of player that they couldn’t match up with before. He put up numbers against them. If they get simmons after a buyout they can for sure match Boston physically.

  5. this was a genius move from the cavs, levert and niang were having good years, but they’re undersized for the role the cavs needed them to play and are inconsistent. swapping in hunter allows wade to play sf a lot less and their backup power forward options to go from niang/strus to wade/hunter/strus. also reported they’re front runners for ben simmons, so their frontcourt size behind mobley/allen is about to go from non/existent to overwhelming

  6. Cavs also got back under the 1st apron with this trade, which is huge for the off-season. They will be able to use the MLE and it also gives them the option of signing someone who is bought out from a contract that was over the MLE

  7. It’s obvious I don’t know basketball… DeAndre Hunter has been ball smh … You don’t deserve a podcast

  8. What the hawks are doing ? They have no pick for 3 years and send a good player with the 2nd option end season injured…. An other team helping the spurs to get better?

  9. So you think Hunter is coming off the bench huh? The Cavs don’t have a true small forward on the roster. I guarantee he starts once he settles in. Who is starting over him on the Cavs roster? Okoro is unreliable and has no offense. Strus is really a shooting guard. And Dean Wade is always hurt and is really a power forward…his offense is also inconsistent. There are no other options. De’Andre Hunter will be starting.

  10. This is a true SF this team has needed for yrs not a 6'5" SG jammed into a spot now fill out the 2spots on buyout with needed guys
