Couldn't possibly be because the man is 40. I didn't love the missing every three point attempt by Austin Reaves but I loved he was able to find a way to contribute to winning the game, the 15 of 16 from the free throw line, four assists, three rebounds, one block and three steals. Three turnovers and a team thirteen turnovers isn't bad.

Yeah I did not see a good laker defense tonight. I saw a team that constantly gave up open looks to a team that can't shoot. Steph went 0-7 on 3s before he made his first one and all of them were WIDE OPEN.

Jason do you think the context matters tho: Celtics just went on a road trip and went 3-0. They also have the same amount of losses as the west 2-seed and are the 2-seed in the east. I agree they’re less focused but it’s not as if they’re completely losing it performance wise in the regular season. I think post all star break you’ll see a big change in demeanor

We need a special 12 team playoff in the west. It’s about speed so we can get the real playoff started. But we want a best of 3 series, with 5-8 having homecourt vs 9-12. Lower seed gets the first two games, back to back nights, at home. If a game 3 is needed, we go the higher seed teams home, for a 3 games in 4 nights. Remember, the intention is ending the round early while still getting the game. We should be able to have this “opening round” along with the east play in a week. There’s no reason to keep 4 good teams out of the playoffs just because they have 3-4 games back of the lower 3 of the 8 that make it. Silver gotta just declare a one season mandate. Figure out a way to market the hell out of it. This guarantees we don’t miss out on Steph or wemby or the suns.

Mailbag: Is there any proof that tanking is actually worth it? It seems like the NBA draft prospects are so unpredictable. I do not think that there is any failsafe method to obtaining a good player through the lottery. I'm mostly just frustrated with my Jazz, they are hard to watch and cheer for. Love the show and appreciate your hard work.
You said the Mavs have been spiraling without Luka.. they’ve been spiraling because half the team has been injured since Luka got injured.
The first time Luka was injured early in the season the team went from an 11 to a 4 seed without him. When most of the rest of the team was healthy. The team is capable of winning a lot of games without Luka but injuries, illnesses and suspensions have killed them.
In this game they were missing Lively, PJ and AD. But that’s just 3 guys. Since Xmas and most of Feb so far 4-6 guys have been missing at once in every game.

Crazy thought. But, having your son on the team and being with him everyday throughout the process is huge motivational factor. He wants to set and be an example for bronny.
