Passed first test. Rockets are legit defense and the Kyrie/AD offense looked just fine. AD won't always hit his 3's obviously, but it was still more than adequate considering the defense was literally one of the best performances in team history (team record 18 blocks, held them to a 0/15 run on FG at one point)

Mavs clearly played with more energy and togetherness … ball was moving , everyone was getting involved giving maximum effort … arena was electric … this is definitely a NEW energy

People said we won this trade are smoking crack. When playoff comes you need a closer and decision makers. This team has none. Kyrie and Davis never make it to NBA final without James.
Some did compare the deal with a funeral … and I understand, you americans (those living squeezed in between Canada and Mexico) love to believe in Supermans, … and the Serb, at least sometimes, looks super-human … brilliant passing, exceptional footwork, clutch-gene, post-season-gene, logo-3s … and on some days even the field goal percentage is outstanding.
I have a bet going since 2022 … LD will retire without a ring. Loved the Mavs during season 2021/22 when Luka was not available, and JB took over. They lost some games, they won some games … but it was always a pleasure to watch. Mutch faster, more players involved.
With Luka bringing the ball, the whole team is reduced to spot-up shooters … he takes a step-back 3, he penetrates, he plays the last brilliant pass … no hand-offs, no screens, no off-ball game, no defence. – Without Luka the game is much faster, most players look more confident … I love the trade …

But to double down after every Dallas Mavericks fan had their soul ripped out by putting out a statement that shit on the heart of the City. Billionaires think they can move to Dallas, trade Luka, and insult the fans by assassinating the character of our hero. Nobody wants them here. Nico is a company man so he represents them. Cuban is a coward. We don't want a championship without Luka. We don't care about NBA ratings. We want it the way it was.

MAVS were in finals last year! Outside of Luka whole team is still there. Adding AD and Max is making this team very, very good. This could be a contender for next 2-3 years.
AD has less raw global star power comapred to Luka but in general bball skill is not worse imo. I also think Luka will be good in LA. He can be even greater global superstar. Will make bank for himself and Lakers

That´s why people are called fan.atic.s. The amount of rationalizing I have seen from Mavs fans over the last two days is next level. Jokic is so fat this season, that he looks like he ate Luka, but ain´t nobody in Denver trying to trade him for 40 year old traffic cone LeBron James. I hope Luka joins his buddy in Denver, when his contract is up and the Fat Brothers destroy the league, drinking beer and smoking cigarettes after sweeping the NBA finals.
