  1. Steph and Jimmy both finally playing along another superstar may be fun to watch. Like LeBron always had Wade and Bosch or kyrie, AD and now Luka. But Steph had only KD healthy for a short stint before the injuries. Hopefully they stay healthy and put on a show these next two years.

  2. I am a lifelong sick in the head Warriors fan! Yet you never fail to make me appreciate their game even more. I'm sad to see Wiggs go but I'm proud of the Dubs for going for it again in the name of Steph n Dray!

  3. I didn't think I would ever write this sentence: "Have I underestimated Steph Curry?" I've been a Steph fan since he shared a back court with Monta Ellis. I have always thought he punched above his weight, and did amazing things a 6'2" shouldn't be able to do. But after watching him and Jimmy come back from down 20+ last night… wow. I thought Steph was on his way to retirement. I'm sure he's lost a step, but when you shoot like that maybe it doesn't matter so much.

And Jimmy Butler: maybe I've been sleeping on Jimmy. Since Jimmy is not the best perimeter shooter, I didn't give him the credit he deserves. But Jimmy is doing everything: he's scoring mid range, he's getting layups, he's getting to the free throw line. Maybe Jimmy's a bit older now, but he still contributes on defense. Everyone was all about how Kevin Durant was the best player on the Warriors when he was in town but now I'm not so sure. It feels like ANYONE is better playing next to Steph.

I'm curious to see if Golden State can put together a run from here. One game does not a season make.

  4. Mailbag: Is Dwight Howard or Javale McGee options for the Lakers? I think both would be more than willing to come and are most likely better then all the options that they have on the buyout/free agent market.

Love the show! Big fan from Finland!

  5. Jimmy is a better player than prime Klay.Much Better defender and better 2 point shooter. He can drive and dunk better than Klay. Warriors may win it all this season! Jimmy is very disrespected in this league!

  6. Lakers just need to sign any center they dont need skill at the position they just need the size and a good 10-15 minutes at most

  7. on offence the lakers pose matchup problems that no team can answer… luka can cook any player so teams usually put their biggest defensive wing or a big build guy like dort on luka to tire him up, now who guards LeBron? and even then… now who guards austin? lakers are going to score A TON and small lineups showed that can work… are lakers favourite in any series? no , but laker can beat anybody just like the pacers last year. luka is an underrated defender that has clear blackouts during games so lakers have to hope that bron+ being traded makes him play with a different focus and effort on defense

  8. The greatest small ball group ever assembled…? What? We just forgot about the KD warriors…? That isn’t even a contest, tbh.

  9. HA HA HA HA . You think it's hard for labron to replicate what he doing. He can do this again for two more seasons, I will never doubt labron ability. Even when he turns 44 he will be unbelievable he works to fall off. He will only stop when his family wants him to

  10. With the Mark Williams trade falling through, the Lakers may struggle against teams with dominant big men like Jokic. Should they fully commit to small-ball, or do they need to find another solution before it's too late?

  11. MAILBAG : Hey Jason, thanks for the video and the constant great work. I have a question about the buyout market. I feel like everytime the trade deadline is crazy like this year, the buyout market is also loaded. Could you talk about the main players (maybe a segment) on the players available? Reggie Jackson, Ben simmons, Larry Nance Jr, etc. I feel a lot of good players can be available to help contenders or borderline contenders get over the top. Thank you.

  12. As a Knicks fan, I’ve seen plenty of low effort defensive performances from Brunson, but this was not one of them. So, I don’t think it is fair to lump the blame on Kat and Brunson together, especially with how much JB was carrying out offense, but I am definitely fine with putting it on Kat.

Rarely ever have I seen Kat start a game with high defensive effort, but if he makes a few shots early and he’s confident…then his defensive energy comes. That mind state where defensive effort only comes after offensive success is a disaster when playing the Celtics. The only way to beat them is to make them uncomfortable from the jump, do whatever it takes to delay them from finding rhythm.

Not only was Kat not fighting for position on those screens, there were numerous possessions where he got stuck in between containing the ball and boxing out on the weak side and instead he did neither. He gave up the shot and gave up the offensive rebound. It was truly an inexcusable defensive performance from him.

It was a disheartening game to watch. Because I know Josh Hart will never again have a game full of abysmal turnovers vs the Celtics. I know Bridges will be better next time we face them. OG and Mitch will be back. But, we still don’t have a fckin chance unless Kat somehow decides to become a high effort defensive player and I don’t see how that will ever happen.

  13. Bron could definitely play the Draymond role on this team. He isn’t needed as much on offense with Luka and Reaves.

  14. If Draymond can win the title at Center with Steph & 22.. Luka ,Bron,& AR … They have Trey Jemisson they can put In2 bang with Joker

  15. Jemisson & Jax can split 5 minutes for 30-32minutes a game then go small šŸ€ to close games

  16. Mailbag question: What is your preferred statistic for "measuring" a player's defensive abilities? Mark Williams is a perfect example of why I ask the question. His Defensive Rating for 2024-25 according to Basketball Reference is 110. That is 4 points lower than the Charlotte Hornets Team Defensive Rating of 114. Seems like everyone was saying that he wasn't good defensively, yet he had a better DRtg than the rest of his team and also as compared to most of the other Centers being considered for trades prior to the trade deadline.

Now that Mark Williams is out, I've been looking at the slim pickings for the Lakers. Mo Bamba is an option, and his DRtg is 103. That is dramatically lower than almost everyone playing in the NBA these days! Is there some defensive rating statistic that you use for comparing players defensively? I'm not sure about the Defensive Rating anymore. It is very helpful as a measurement that is based on a per-100 possessions basis, but is it actually representative of defensive performance?

  17. LeBron and Luka play at such a slow pace that playing small ball seems counter intuitive.

  18. Bro I’m no Jaxon Hayes fan but bruh is weird for saying Mark Williams the answer. Because if you did a pro’s vs con’s on each player…. They check off the same boxes. Hayes can absolutely jump out the gym. Now I’m on board williams is better. But they profile the same bro. And anyone who disagrees… weird

  19. as a dubs fan, that game was real satisfying to watch. it's nice to see a definite 1B who can "slow" the game down, but not our offense or our general flow in transition and in defense. i think the absolute ceiling of this current roster and situation is at best a second round appearance, but with 1-2 reliable bench wings next season i think we can make a lotta noise. maybe that 5th ring is on for my goat 🄹

  20. What about when Magic played center? Who is bigger, stronger, more athletic LBJ or Green? Green was the starting center in three of those NBA championships. I get LBJ doesn’t want to be a center, but based on Green’s performance, LBJ could do it.

  21. Mailbag Question šŸ™‹ā€ā™‚ļøā€¦ Thank you for the great content and I greatly respect your vast bball knowledge… The Lakers need a center of course… But it’s been MPJ blistering us with Rui on him… How does DFS and Vando help us in this matchup? Are they enough of a game changers to effect the outcome of an LA – Denver series?
