Hornets Challenging Lakers Trade Cancellation | Mark Williams Not With Team | LaMelo Hurts Ankle

Hornets Challenging Lakers Trade Cancellation | Mark Williams Not With Team | LaMelo Hurts Ankle

The Hornets aren’t backing down after the Lakers failed Mark Williams on a physical—should they be fighting this? Plus, LaMelo Ball’s ankle issues resurface, Moussa Diabate impresses again, and we debate whether the Hornets need to open their minds about roster fit in the wake of another early LaMelo exit due to ankle issues.

The Charlotte Hornets aren’t letting the Mark Williams trade drama die down just yet. After the Lakers failed Williams on a physical and rescinded the deal, the Hornets are reportedly exploring ways to challenge the decision. But should they? Will it lead to any real compensation, or are they just making noise to save face?

Meanwhile, the injury bug refuses to leave Charlotte alone. LaMelo Ball left another game with “ankle soreness,” and the mystery around his long-term health only grows. Is this just caution, or is his ability to stay on the court a serious problem the front office needs to factor into future moves? If LaMelo’s availability continues to be an issue, should the Hornets be looking at another lead ball handler in the draft?

On a more positive note, Moussa Diabate continues to show why fans love him. His energy, rebounding, and defensive effort were on full display against the Nets. But is he a legitimate long-term answer at center, or just a fun piece on a team desperate for bright spots?

We break down all of it—Williams vs. the Lakers, LaMelo’s latest setback, and whether Moose has real staying power in the rotation. Don’t miss this jam-packed episode of Locked On Hornets!

  1. This is bs. Let me educate you and all. Laker standards are higher. Im the 80s Lakets were to sign Ruck Robey. Decided not to to. His body fat too high. So Phoenix signed him instead

  2. Come on charlotte what are we doing? Mark has been my 2nd favorite player on the team for a while and its about time we give him his respect! Let him stay!

  3. I get this, we made moves assuming we would not be keeping Mark and getting players in return. I said it was shady from the beginning and I am glad the Hornets are at least doing their due diligence to get to the bottom of this BS.

  4. Lakers may have gotten cold feet on Mark Williams. I bought a house and got cold feet it happens. The house didn't pass the inspection;)😂

  5. Charoltte is such a garbage organization, tried to fleece the Lakers lied about welcoming back. Terrible owners/coaches/culture

  6. I am willing to bet that the Lakers had no other teams offering anything. The Hornets offered Mark who the Hornets don’t have to trade and in desperation LA promised too much. They heard everyone else say it was too much and they found an excuse to back out of the deal. That makes the most sense because LA needs a player, the Hornets didn’t need the picks. It’s not like the Hornets are even in the playoff race.

  7. There is no resurrecting Mark Williams. Hornets are stuck with him. I read there were foot issues with him.

  8. If the Hornets are absolutely convinced that there is nothing wrong or hidden in this trade, the challenge is well worth it. If you leave such a story unresolved, your trading reputation is at least 50% damaged. Any future trade partner will either distance themselves from you from the outset, or at least check every detail tenfold. And yet there would still be a stale aftertaste. You're half a sly one. If you're sure that's not true, set the record straight, at least save your reputation as a serious partner if your reputation as a permanently injured permanent loser sticks to you like dog shit to the sole of your shoe. I just sincerely hope they're sure. Otherwise I'll only wear my Sicko uniform at night when nobody can see me and I'm in danger of being lynched… 😅

But seriously, no matter whose fault this is; this story is an insult and slight to Mark that neither he nor any other player deserves. Fight through it Mark! 🫵🏽🦾

  9. The strong statement is simply saving face value of Mark Williams. The Lakers can’t just tank job the Hornets & their players value with this whole trade reversal. Unless the physical is included with an on court evaluation then I’m not completely buying any doctors paid by lakers assessments.

  10. Repsectfully fellas, think yall are off on this one. If the FO believes they were honest in the trade in terms of Marks medicals, then hornets look noticeably worse if we sit down and take this. Especially with ESPN and big media backing the Lakers.

  11. Hornets called the Lakers to offer Williams, they were getter a good return for him, the Lakers medical staff found things they didn't like and rescinded the trade, it was too late to amend the trade package. The Lakers also lost from rescinding the trade, they are without a center the rest of the year, lost a roster spot that had open up and money they had saved with the deal, something must have been wrong for them knowing what position they were going to end up by rescinding this and the still did it. Also, again keep in mind that the Hornets are the ones that offered Williams to the Lakers.

  12. LAKERS HAVE HAD TOO MANY PLAYERS ON THEIR INJUREY LIST THE PAST THREE YEARS.
(WOODS, VANDERBILT, VINCENT, KLEBER, NUNN) ALL MISSED ALMOST A SEASON OF PLAYING TIME
SO LAKERS WANT TO BE 100 PERCENT SURE OF PLAYERS HEALTH
