u are right and u were right about smarts trade. this trade made the team weaker right now, the only possitive is that you can develop more the young players. it looks like the owner just wanted to cut costs
Get rid of the contract for the off-season to resign guys. Business move. Smart had a weak trade value of we had to attach the 1st round pick to it. He hasn't played for most of the season anyways and the team has the record that it does without him… So….
I think Marv Bag is gonna play and do well for us.
Smart have done everything for two years why you think Boston got rid of him
The Smart acquisition wasn’t bad at the time. I think we all were hopeful in his contribution to the championship aspirations of the team. It didn’t work out. Reality is sometimes it doesn’t work out. They cut bait. Oh well. We have a team chock full of young talent. I actually like how we draft develop and invest in our own. Maybe we won’t win a chip or contend every year. But as a fan I can buy into that philosophy and root for loyalty
I think what annoys me about wells and edey being out so long was – i could see their mistakes and they were both going to get eaten by that offense, but so was everyone else. I would rather see wells play until he fouled out on sga, and id rather edey have time seeing a1 paint attacks and couch him. Against this team, we aren't going to win without a body in the paint, edey need to learn to deal with it eventually, might as well be last night.
Its not your money
There’s no way Ja has hit his ceiling. If he has, he at least needs to get back to how he was playing 2 and 3 years ago scoring 40+ multiple times in the playoffs in both playoff seasons. He’s supposed to be the comparable to a prime Derrick Rose. He’s supposed to be our second chance at seeing a guard like Derrick Rose have an incredible career away from leg injuries. Ja has not hit his ceiling. He’s got to do a better job of letting the offense come to him when drives and has to master his mid range game. He still seems like a kid out there. We need him to evolve from lion cub to full on lion.
Would Bruce Brown be an option?
We do okay next time against them for show
it will be more harder to trade him next season they need that 20M capspace for JJJ extension.
This team is not ready for a championship run. 2nd round exit.
Smart is washed. I also think they should take a hard look at Jenkins this summer if the team underwhelms. He's not a strong in game coach
Yea but smart was declining and staying unhealthy doesn’t help his value we did right by getting rid of em his value was low as it ever been they didn’t offer us much for smart and always wanted Vince Williams jr attached with em that’s not gonna happen also if we wait someone will come and offer Jaren a max deal the grizzlies wouldn’t be able to match that if we kept smart also we shouldn’t be paying smart 20 mil to score 9 pts and we don’t need another big name we have 3 I don’t get why y’all keep saying go get a big name why when we would have to trade one of our main core
What has Marcus done in his time with Memphis that proves the team will be worse without him? Even when he played, he wasn't good. He never wanted to be here showed up out of shape, and was constantly injured. The team is second in the West mostly without him.
If Jerami Grant really wasn’t available Ima go for Obi Toppin and you can’t tell me Patrick Williams wasn’t available but WE CHASED KD AND BUTLER the most expensive players in the league
Idk how we weren’t in the news for trying to get Kuzma if Marcus Smarts trade value is that low but we chased Jimmy Butler Kd and Lonzo
Bro u saying we don’t match up wit these good teams how wen we beat some of em and lost some of em we can’t win all our games we play nor play good every night fam we lost yes but put some respect on us we in the 2nd seed u kinda disrespecting us somewhat
This man is smart.. I lack the patience to communicate how important it is to keep your mid level contracts and instead of salary dumping them YOU SHOULD ADD HOW EVER MANY PICKS TO IMPROVE when trading your kid level away.. Marcus should have turned into Jaden McDaniels next year with 3 first round picks
Bro it’s obvious we chased Jimmy Butler the entire month, Lonzo the last day and KD the last hour.. tried to get Malcolm Brogdon in the final minutes with the EXACT salary and he said he doesn’t wanna be here 🤡
