  1. I can see the league conducting a physical themselves, as every team has different standards, and pending the results of that , they can still validate the trade as it would be considered " in Retro " as it was already approved before the deadline, and should Mark fail the League Physical then the Lakers were justified in their decision , I don't know for sure , I just see this as a potential scenario.

  2. Ridiculous take. The Lakers wanted this trade and were willing to overpay to get him. Because he fits what they need right now and going forward. The only thing that changed is his medical condition as disclosed. This is the Hornets trying to avoid the blowback for misrepping his medicals and – AS A LAKER CHANNEL – youre buying into their BS. Stop it.

If the Lakers are pulling a fast one youd see them asking to complete the trade for reduced compensation. That aint happening in any reports.

  3. Even Hornets fans noticed that Williams appeared to be off in the last 2 weeks of his playing….He was a defensive liability!

  4. Conspiracy theory. Pelinka wanted to make it LOOK like he got a lob threat for Luka but he didn’t actually want to give up Knecht and those picks. So he traded for a player he knew had an extensive injury history and then failed the physical after the trade deadline so no other trade could be done.

  5. Are we not really better just taking this I feel like we can win this year I don't know why they're so worried about the next four win now while you have it get the long-term big later

  6. ADAM SILVER IS NOT SIDE WITH A SMALL MARKET TEAM . WE ALL KNOW THIS

LAKERS , CELTICS, KNICKS,MAVERICKS, OR GOLDEN STATE BRINGS IN THE MOST REVENUE AND OR THE FAVORITES

  7. I’m a Hornets fan. I like Mark Williams. When he’s healthy he’s a quality starting center. His presence does help the team. But so does another first round pick. I just want this thing to be over with. It’s gotta be super awkward for all of the players involved.

  8. Horents know other teams will call the lakers about what they saw and that will cook willaims trade value …hornets should just take the L and move on ..as far as value goes its all in marks court now …show up and show out .

  9. What do think the Hornets could say otherwise to a player they had traded then having him come back because the Lakers rejected him. The Lakers made similar statements to Knecht trying to smooth it over as well. Why would the Hornets challenge the trade to the NBA if they weren't forthcoming in the trade? You beat up the vague statement made by the Hornets but don't question the Laker's vague reasons for failing the physical. I don't expect the league to do anything about it since the Lakers are one of their premiere markets especially after looking the other way in the Lucs Donic trade.

  10. If the Hornets are absolutely convinced that there is nothing wrong or hidden in this trade, the challenge is well worth it. If you leave such a story unresolved, your trading reputation is at least 50% damaged. Any future trade partner will either distance themselves from you from the outset, or at least check every detail tenfold. And yet there would still be a stale aftertaste. You're half a sly one. If you're sure that's not true, set the record straight, at least save your reputation as a serious partner if your reputation as a permanently injured permanent loser sticks to you like dog shit to the sole of your shoe. I just sincerely hope they're sure. Otherwise I'll only wear my Sicko uniform at night when nobody can see me and I'm in danger of being lynched… 😅

But seriously, no matter whose fault this is; this story is an insult and slight to Mark that neither he nor any other player deserves. Fight through it Mark! 🫵🏽🦾

  11. I think what goes under appreciated here is how high tier our front office looks in the last few weeks. The Mavs look dumb and cheap and Charlotte looks shady.

The lakers, on the other hand, look like they have a good medical team, they handle injuries appropriately and cautiously, they build community around their players, and know how to play the business side of the league.

That might go unnoticed by the fans, but not by the players. Do you want to play for the Mavs when they rush you back and get you hurt, or Charlotte when their doctors suck? Or the organization that’s thorough and organized?

  12. How can you complain about the medical of a guy who's missed over 60% of his available games in 2.5 seasons?

They are clearly keen to get rid of Mark as soon as possible before he gets hurt again and his value drops even more.

  13. As much as we needed a center I think we can all come to the agreement that it's easier to find A center moving forward or in free agency for the now- just to have a big body, then to find another Dalton knect at his age, as a rookie and Let us not forget the career highs He's already scored this year. Not to mention we get our pick back to do a less desperate trade in the off-season, even if that means shipping DK off again for a Better healthier Center or even Mark Williams again *minus the 2031 pick. IJS. I believe the lakers brass had buyer's remorse. And rightfully so.

  14. Colin Castleton this was a comment by other Lakers Fans the more I see wants on the free agent market the Fans right I say welcome back Colin Castleton people

  15. Wait? The Lakers aggressively perused their player Williams who they didn’t want to trade, but only reluctantly agreed. They sent a big announcement after it was nixed proclaiming their joy at having him back. Now this?

They are truly a slimy organization. You can tell when they are lying. It’s whenever their lips move.

  16. I hope the trade gets reinstated by the league. Even if he’s hurt right now, we can nurse him back to Health, he’s only 23 years old. And we have to look towards the future.

  17. Don’t think NBA can do anything if Lakers medical staff sees something. Just sucks for players involved and poor timing of the trade. Mark is still in LA supposedly.

  18. this is probably a bad take, but i was never a fan of the trade for the Lakers. Knect has a lot of potential and an unprotected first is never a good thing to give up. Jaxson Hayes will also benefit from playing with Luka, and I assume Wood is coming back eventually to come off the bench. There are also enough above average wing defenders on the team in Finney-Smith, Vanderbilt n Rui to run spurts of small ball with Luka and Reeves. I like the team as is. Dallas ran through the west last year without a dominant big. N Luka now wears Purple n Gold.

  19. Nothing will happen. The Hornets medical staff may think his medical issues are not serious but the Lakers medical staff have different opinions, regardless of who’s wrong and who’s right. The NBA can’t make the Lakers change their, and otherwise. So the Hornets can file all the complains they want but it’s waste of everyone’s time and energy.

  20. They can't force the trade through, the trade deadline is done. This is essentially the Hornets trying to save face as an organization instead of being blamed for trying to sell damaged goods, and also save Mark's value so they can still trade him in the off-season.

The Lakers desperately need a big, they wouldn't have backed out if Mark was healthy enough. If healthy he pretty much puts them as near favorites to win the title with how Redick has the team running his system now. I think the Hornets know Mark is a health risk, and that they forced an overpay from a team that was desperate for someone as talented as a HEALTHY Mark Williams. Smart move for the Lakers to back out instead of wasting their assets before the Luka era even has a chance to take off.
